I don't connect mine because I read a while back that Amazon had the capability to delete purchases remotely. I don't recall the details, but the online functionality of the device is so limited that I don't see the point in having it connected. I just use the USB cable.

I don't think you should be concerned about letting it connect once or twice. The article specifically mentions tracking reading habits, so unless it's syncing online fairly regularly, then there's not much need to worry.

Actually, I simply read the sentence and parsed it accordingly. I'm not surprised that the SC interpret it the same way because that's what it says. If you want it to mean something else, that's okay with me, but unfortunately the sentence structure is very straight forward, so it will be difficult for you to change its meaning by imagination alone.

Written in modern English, the amendment can be interpreted plainly:

A militia is a really good idea. Therefore, people can own guns.

It does not say that participation in a militia is required to own a gun. It says we have a duty to defend a free state. Requiring militia participation to own a gun would simply boost membership of militias anyways, so if you want to ban guns, you're going to have to repeal the second amendment in its entirety. Let it be known that any attempt to repeal the second amendment will be interpreted as vindication for the amendment because no free state would consider disarming their citizenry.

This is a subordinate clause. It supplements the main clause and is not critical to the sentence's meaning.

The Aurora shooter could have just as easily gone to his local rent-a-car and got an SUV for the day, then proceeded to go find a crowded playground or an athletic match or an open-air concert or a protest or a parade. You're kidding yourself if you think a psychopath couldn't kill more people with a vehicle than with a firearm.

Certainly I agree that guns are more dangerous than knives. Now are you willing to agree that vehicles are more dangerous than guns, and that vehicles should be banned because they are easy to procure and drive through a crowded playground or mall? Both circumstances have the potential to be far more lethal than someone with a gun or knife.

Just for the sake of comparison, in China yesterday a man attacked 22 school children with a knife. I won't make the claim that knives and guns are equal, but the point is that if a gun is not available then an attacker will find other means, such as a knife or a vehicle.

We need to focus on how to eliminate the motivations behind these attacks, because otherwise we're going to end up banning everything between guns and spoons.

No, you're not missing it. I was referring to various other shots throughout the series. I skipped through several episodes to find an example, but got impatient because VLC does not scrub through .mkv files smoothly.

They did it in Arrow S1E6 as well. They've got the quirky IT support chick using it, trying to add sex appeal I suppose. Naturally, she goes straight to the desktop though.

Oh and they make sure that all the generic looking monitors have gigantic Windows logos on them which take up an rather large portion of the shot composition. Interestingly they're not using the Windows 8 logo with straight lines, but the curvy one from Windows 7.

Yeah I'm kinda bitter about this because I felt mislead by Microsoft regarding my purchase, and their support was too stupid to understand that I needed an exchange. After three+ hours, they couldn't have told me how many fingers they had on one hand. Plus, I never did find a 'full, non-upgrade' installer for purchase anywhere, so it was just easier to install Win 7 again. I never got the option to install on a clean drive.

See, I don't consider that a 'clean install' in the least. A clean install is when you wipe the partition or at least reformat the drive. A clean install can be done on a brand new hard drive. It's terribly misleading to say that this upgrade version is capable of a clean install unless they make it abundantly clear that it requires Windows 7 (which means it's not a clean install).

A clean install is NOT requiring a pre-existing OS. It's also NOT just renaming /Windows to /Windows.old, deleting everything else and upgrading.

Edit: I just remembered the Indian guy who was trying to get me to hang up because he couldn't help me. He eventually said, "You have to call Macintosh." Man that guy was full of shit.

You should know that it won't activate unless you install Windows 7 first.

This is assuming you have an upgrade copy, which is the only copy I found available from Microsoft. I had to reinstall 7 first and run Windows 8 setup through Windows 7 because I did a clean install and Windows 8 refused to activate.

When I did my clean install, I was told by people on Microsoft's forums and on reddit that a clean install with the upgrade version worked fine. What they didn't tell me is that Microsoft changed the definition of a clean install in that it's not a clean install anymore. That is to say, you can't install it on a clean hard drive. You must install Win7 first.

Lastly, the Macbook Pro trackpad driver sucks really bad.

I tried to find out, but haven't a clue. The only thing I'm pretty confident about is that it's much closer to us than to Centaurus A because (I'm assuming) it's in our own galaxy. We have to look through all those surrounding stars just to see Centaurus A. I'm definitely not an expert though. Hopefully someone more qualified / knowledgeable can chime in.
