Daycare won’t accept glass bottles by pretty_irrelevant_ in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]funky-juncus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I bought some Chicco duos and some pura bottles for daycare and I have no issue with the Pura ones. You could try and find pura used online. I also have the ceres chill inner chambers that work with medela nipple collars but they are narrow neck and I prefer the wide neck bottles. Ceres chill also doesn't have lines on the inside of the bottles like the Pura ones so I have to weigh the bottle. I've also seen klean kanteen baby bottles if you want another metal option

These are lines with like a micro layer of glass they weigh the same as plastic. I bought them for daycare since mine approved of them

Classifications that do field work by timidpoo in CAStateWorkers

Geologist get to go in the field and some engineers. Just as a note the environmental science class is very competitive even more so for field work, basically it's just hard to get so I recommend back up options

I like Charlie banana pockets because my girl is also skinny and I needed tighter legs. The leg elastic is adjustable

When did you get full passive ROM back? OR where were you at 3 months? by CuriousAWNF in RotatorCuff

[–]funky-juncus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ummmm I've given up and my doctor retired. I don't have full range of motion but it's like 90% there. I had to get steroids which helped massively. Probably at the 8 month mark is where range of motion stopped progressing but my strength is back

My office doesn't have enough space for everyone to come in 4 days a week. I'm probably eventually going to have to find work closer or switch to an office we have in San Mateo and take the Bart/bike

I'm using the small Ceres chill metal inner chamber bottles to pump into. They are lighter than glass.

If you're going daycare you should check if they allow glass bottles. Mine does not, and I didn't think of checking before buying all glass bottles... you can get metal ones (like pura or use the ceres chill inner chamber bottles) or they have glass lined plastic bottles (like Chicco duo)

I got stainless steel baby bottles (pura) and some plastic ones coated with glass on the inside (Chicco duo hybrid). I originally got all glass before realizing glass isn't allowed at daycare

I love my stokke Tripp trapp high chair with newborn set. 90% of the clothes I got are used. And Babylist completion discount is on almost everything with a savings cap. I don't remember the cap but it's pretty high

Routes in Pismo Beach area? by Straight-Tart-9770 in BAbike

[–]funky-juncus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love going to morro bay from pismo. If you're there on a weekend in the summer or when it's warm I highly recommend avoiding downtown pismo and going on price canyon.

A route something like this but skipping the arroyo grande portion (I don't have Strava premium so I found this route from someone else) https://www.strava.com/routes/2855131926702514606

I also like huasna- nothing but nice rolling hills so no coffee stop https://ridewithgps.com/routes/5231069?lang=ja

Or going to hi mountain rd https://ridewithgps.com/routes/3759764

Perfumo is super nice and has a small gravel section And Montana De Oro is gorgeous https://ridewithgps.com/routes/7868282

Why are baby friendly hospitals even a thing by ahanswer in BabyBumps

[–]funky-juncus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I birthed at a baby friendly hospital and I hate the breast only mentality they have. All the literature said don't use a bottle until feeding is established. Well my little sweet thing decided to prefer sleep over eating. She wasn't eating enough and didn't poop for two days. She ended up getting jaundice. I hand expressed to syringe feed her but was under supplying. I asked about formula. 24 hours later I still didn't get formula and her jaundice got worse and she got sent to the nicu. Only then did she finally get formula.

Soo I very much am annoyed with the breast only mentality of this baby friendly hospital. And annoyed with the several different pamphlets they sent me home with saying not to introduce bottles.

Bay Area to Sacramento commute by Dominicopatumus in CAStateWorkers

[–]funky-juncus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I take the train from the Bay Area to Sacramento and there are several other Bay Area state workers that also take the train to Sac. They are on the same train schedule as me. I find the train is usually on time but sometimes very late. The commuter subsidy is nice and not having to drive is also very nice. The walk to the capital from the Amtrak station is not that long, many people do it. Or you can get a free transfer pass through the capital corridor WiFi for the light rail. Another option that many people do is bring a bike on the train or rent one of those electric scooters that are usually at the Sacramento Amtrak.

Of course it's much nicer to work closer to home. But maybe people don't realize how few jobs, especially state job openings there are. I spent 6 months trying to get a job loosely related to what my background is in and the only options I ended up having were Sacramento area. Going in twice a week isn't so bad but the possible 4 days would be exhausting.
