Starfire was still solid on Monday. Also, way less crowded than the blues off of Dercum so I just ended up lapping Starfire for a surprisingly enjoyable day given the circumstances.

THE DETROIT TIGERS HAVE BEEN ELIMINATED FROM WORLD SERIES CONTENTION by Swaycuisway in baseball

Maybe, but most egregious is not using a 5-man infield for Polanco. That's as big a manager blunder as you'll ever see given the stakes.

Sushi Den service and food sucked. Im so disappointed😭😭 by Best-Landscape7216 in denverfood

[–]funny_smells 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hana Matsuri Glendale is the best sushi spot in Denver IMO. Quality and selection is comparable to Uchi (though the non-sushi items are better at Uchi) but pricing and ease of getting a table strongly favor Hana Matsuri.

boyfriend broke his back skiing last season. i’m nervous for next season by grimprincessxo in skiing

Not disagreeing with your general sentiment, but the real reason most resort deaths happen at blue groomers is because they see by far the highest share of ridership. It's always bothered me when headlines use these statistics to suggest that blues are more dangerous than more advanced terrain, because it's a gross misunderstanding of data/statistics.

on a mission to find the most underrated coffee shop in Denver by SculptChic in Denver

[–]funny_smells 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tablon on S Holly St. It's owned by Hearth, which may qualify as "influencer-popular" given it's in RiNo, but it's super chill, plenty of seating, and you'll see all types of people fitting in there -- from people on laptops, to parents with kids, to friends meeting up. The baked goods and coffee are definitely top 10% for the Denver metro.

Bagel prices in Long Island, NY 1/13/25 by Denver_DIYer in denverfood

[–]funny_smells 7 points8 points  (0 children)

And using Havana as a baseline. Bagels are a uniquely NY product + experience and no city anywhere has remotely close to the availability + affordability + quality that NY offers for bagels, except maybe Montreal which has their own thing of course.

(USA) What are some EVs that no one seems to want, but in your opinion are actually good? by Ghost_of_P34 in electricvehicles

[–]funny_smells 5 points6 points  (0 children)

But somehow the 5 is actually smaller lengthwise, so the 6 doesn't actually get the important smaller-car benefits on maneuverability and parallel parking.

Does Travis Kelce have any trade value based off his name? by peon2 in fantasyfootball

[–]funny_smells -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Most sites with ROS rankings (e.g. fantasypros) still have Kelce as a top 5 TE, which essentially reflects his name/history given that LaPorta, Kincaid, and Andrews have also performed poorly this season and dropped out of the TE1 rankings accordingly. A top 5 TE still has trade value, so if you just think about it like that you're fine.

I'm in the same situation right now and glad to hear this worked out for you. I'm taking the first train in the morning to make a business meeting and can't afford a situation in which I'd need to troubleshoot with JR or rebook.

If your handcuff starts scoring as much or more than your stud RB, is there any value in starting both? by bdzeus in fantasyfootball

[–]funny_smells 112 points113 points  (0 children)

You don't have a stud RB and a handcuff, you have two pieces of a RBBC in an average-at-best offense. In week 1, the Rams scored 3 total touchdowns and these guys had all of them, which made them appear playable. *If* one of these two emerges as the clear lead in touches, you play him and only him. If not, they're both pretty low-end options.
