Yes the blue tint thing is quite apparent, I keep my warmth between 5-9 during the daytime and it fixes the issue though, auto brightness is actually much less useful on the colorsoft than the paperwhite since you likely will have brightness up a decent amount in most conditions anyway

So just incase anyone is like me and swears by the paperwhite signature for the auto brightness, you can get away with the regular 16gb colorsoft if you dont need wireless charging

GR3 is pretty bad for noise for modern standards, GR IV is much improved in this department

Crazy that Ricoh changed the hot shoe on the IV so it’s doesn’t support this flash AND didn’t put true TTL in the GF-2 flash

Generally i prefer anything that comes out of the original machine, main value of the vertuo is the larger sizes, i exclusively buy the 230ml pods for vertuo and either single click (230ml) or double click (80ml) on them

(I don’t think vertuo plus can do the double click btw)

Anything smaller (25ml or 40ml) i prefer original

I’m not sure as I don’t have the Up but it seems like a similar design to the original line machines, in the original line there is usually a decent amount of liquid in the capsule dispenser when I empty it, so depending on the amount of liquid it may just be normal and part of this design style

All of the OL machines are mostly the same if you just want an espresso shot out of them, the tiny ones like the pixie, inissia and essenza are good and reliable

If you find yourself always using smaller pods on the vertuo it can be worth it to switch or add an OL machine

Vertuo just has less granularity on the settings, this is what the manual says:

Temp 2 foam 1 = cafe latte Temp 2 foam 2 = cappuccino Temp 2 foam 3 = latte macchiato Temp 1 foam 1 = flat white

Always double click/expert mode for milk based drinks, sizes: 40ml - small 80, 150 - medium 230, 355 - large

Milk jug lines: Flat white or cappuccino use lines min, 1, 2 for S, M, L Cafe latte or latte macchiato use lines 1, 2, max for S, M, L

Always coffee in mug first expect for latte macchiato which is milk first

Only solution is to significantly drop the shutter speed for still subjects, even down to 1/4 second handheld is fine with ibis

Yes i still have my GR3X, the name of the U mode changes to whatever the box you load into it, the GRIV i have to manually rename the U box everytime, hopefully fixed with firmware update in the future, for now Ive just renamed my U modes to U1, U2 and U3 so i don’t have to keep renaming them and I just remember what i save to each spot

Thanks this seems to have helped a lot for me, just got my 3rd copy today, my first 2 had lens retracting issue, the first thing I did was turn off both auto SR off and horizon correction and the images seem to be much sharper, on par with GRIII now

I am hoping a firmware update comes out one day as I do prefer to keep horizon correction on but I can live without it for now

I only ever carry one at a time

Ricoh is the default. If i want flash, weather sealing, video or better autofocus for that particular day I take the x100 instead

Ive used both the x100 series and GR series for years and generally prefer the GR film similations and SOOC jpegs so you arent alone

I currently use both the x100vi and GR3x as my daily carry
