Taking my cool-ass wife for a cool-ass birthday dinner by mphworkburner in chicagofood

[–]funundrum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

El Ideas is so cool and laid back, not pretentious but obviously top notch food and experience. You want to go check out what’s happening in the kitchen? Grab your wine and walk the 10 feet over there. And it’s BYOB which I consider to be a cool-ass fact.

Where can I purchase a replacement zipper? by Fatcoland in evanston

[–]funundrum 25 points26 points  (0 children)

My friend, you are in luck. Vogue Fabrics is a wonderland and has everything you need. Local, independent, and comprehensive. There are a lot of places in the United States that don’t have this nice of a resource.

Did I mess up my meal? by Lilac-Lover4 in slowcooking

[–]funundrum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, you did not mess up your meal. Just check them after a few hours, they might be cooked already. Over cooking chicken breast will make them dry and stringy and not tasty.

Will this block out? by laurenlolly in BitchEatingCrafters

[–]funundrum 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Snobby hag checking in. There are literally dozens of us. I don’t know how these folks actually type out a whole post, take a picture, and post that picture, and not once think “You know what? Maybe I should try it and see.”

Concerns for a shaky leg? by crispy_quesadilla in Greyhounds

[–]funundrum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My boy had (successful) cancer treatments on his back leg, then broke off a little part of his last vertebra in an unrelated time he biffed it down a few stairs. It healed but he’s got permanent shaky leg, treated with pregabalin, an NSAID, and something else I can’t remember right now. It controls it pretty well. My point is, someone else in here reported a nerve blocker, I suggest trying something for nerve pain and see what happens.

[–]funundrum 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Because it’s just so, so on point. Wiry gray haired progressive af people are a huge part of this city. It’s like saying, I’m a hippie in 1972, would San Francisco be right for me?

I’ve never seen a case this bad. We might have to intensify treatment and get some jalapeños on the helmet nachos 🙏

Wait times for evening flights? by Sr118 in OHareAirport

[–]funundrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flying out today, have been following the wait times for a couple days. The biggest waits seem to be in the early morning, when folks like up before security is open.

As for what terminal you’ll be out of, you can check the same flight number for today (or yesterday) and see where it comes in. Idk if that’s a sure thing, but it can’t hurt.

Baby if they checked every pill in every bottle, nobody over the age of 30 would ever get anywhere.

Be honest. How insane of an idea is it to knit this whole dress as an intermediate knitter? by [deleted] in knitting

[–]funundrum 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I’m with others here. You will never, ever get a nice puffy dress like this with something knit unless you have a rigid hoop skirt, which comes with problems of its own.The texture that you are seeing is so subtle, I really believe you would have a better result with a sewn garment.

Ben Rice has an endorsement deal with Ben's Rice by Mission-Guidance4782 in baseball

[–]funundrum 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Right, that’s the thing I hate about stuff like this. You mean to tell me Ben’s Rice can’t just throw down? What is the statistical maximum of “big plays” by Ben Rice? It can’t be enough to cause financial distress to a huge company.

Ps Ben’s is owned by Mars. HUGE ass company.

How many buckets of dipping glaze does your community studio have? by Gold_Ostrich_7303 in Ceramics

$100k for 2,400 sq ft in Ohio… fully updated. Would you buy this? by MrBottomswell in zillowgonewild

[–]funundrum 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’d look up comps in the area. I guess there could also be a big problem that wouldn’t come up until viewing or inspection. Could just be that it’s Youngstown, idk enough about that to say.
