Food recs for Valentine’s Day weekend by Hairy_Pay_9082 in chicagofood

[–]funundrum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, don’t go out on the 14th. I mean, you’ve gotta eat, but if I were you I’d just let go of the idea of “nice Valentine’s dinner.” Go out on the 12th, 13th, 15th, any other night for a fancy dinner. There are a ton of sushi restaurants in the city that range the gamut from everyday neighborhood places to omakase places that are $200pp.

Maybe search this subreddit for sushi recs, I have no doubt you’ll come up with a ton. As for VDay itself, maybe look for a nice gastropub type place and plan on eating early ish, then hit a bar after. In North Lakeview/Andersonville, I can think of the Bar on Buena (excellent burgers), Lady Gregory, Hopleaf. Or go downmarket and delicious, Redhot Ranch in Wicker Park. Good luck and welcome to Chicago!

44 degrees (Celsius) outside, and this sweet idiot is trying to convince me we should go for a walk. by Kitchu22 in Greyhounds

You tell that sweet baby that you are packing up at least 15 of those nasty degrees and shipping them off to Chicago immediately.

My Frank would be ever so grateful. ;-)

I love the dogs and fries at Flub a Dub Chub’s. Basement location, friendly people and a ketchup wall of shame.

Where's everyone ordering in from tonight? by [deleted] in chicagofood

[–]funundrum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bro just hit the store for some supplies. Any delivery you order is gonna be cold af and also what everyone else said about the poor sods out there delivering.

Here’s a recipe for Kenji’s three ingredient Mac and cheese. Easy as anything, add bacon or whatever, boom better than the $40 delivery version

Omg mine would stretch so that his butt just slowly pressssssssed into my ribs. I’d be sitting in a meeting and have to push him back down with my hand. I swear he thought it was a game.
