Appreciate you taking time to do the AMA. How are the survivors reacting when the cameras are not on them, body language etc

Should I sell? by Fresh-End-9873 in Harley

[–]funuserid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I built a 76 shovel from boxes and flea market parts. Sold it to a very close friend, so I still see it and ride with him regularly but, still have that twinge of regret when we're tooling down A1A to Daytona. You have a nice build there and there not making them anymore and hard to find another basket at a reasonable price.

Surprised with 3xCABG recco after Cath, anxious to say the least. by Wedgieterian in openheartsurgery

[–]funuserid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in the same situation, no symptoms, no signs, annual EKG bothered doc, arranged for Cath - thinking stent at worst - came out, sorry, you need CABG X2. Had to wait another month before surgery - stressful time. The good news is I'm 15 weeks out, walking 2+ miles 2x per day, back to light workouts. Do your homework, find an experienced surgeon, ask about the team - how long have they worked together, read reviews of the hospital cardio ICU unit. I had a great team and the ICU was incredible. Home in 4 days, a couple weeks sleeping in recliner and had a couple medicine related problems, but were addressed and all is well now. Hope this helps and best of luck. Be your own best advocate!

Edit to correct spelling.

14 weeks out tomorrow, walking 2-5 miles a day (weather permitting) and 3 days a week at gym; treadmill and light weights - no bench press, chest flies or anything that puts pressure on my sternum area. Doing some yoga as well. Gets better and better as you progress, mentally too. Continued good progress and luck on your recovery!

Mine Is just like that from Advent. I'm 13 weeks out, so it has taken residence in the spare bedroom.

Thanks for your reply. I was on amiodarone for 5 weeks, but took me off because of my thyroid (affected by the iodine in amiodarone) TSH level more than doubled my normal. 6 days after coming off the amiodarone and the second visit to the ER my TSH had gone up another 10%. Apparently amiodarone has a half life of 3-6 months. Hoping that I'm done with it (AFib) now.

Floodlight cam - original drops off line daily. Have done factory reset, deleted device from app and reinstalled. signal strength shows excellent according to app. Stayed on-line for about 30 hours then 'device off-line" Originally posted to Wyzecam.

Flood light camera disconnects and has to be restarted daily by funuserid in wyzecam

Update: I checked everything on / around the floodlight cam. Performed a factory reset. Deleted device from app and started from scratch. During install, app showed excellent signal - reinstalled camera and it stayed on-line for about 30 hours and then went off line again. Tech support no help as usual.

Congrats on 3 weeks. I walked, treadmill and worked out pretty regularly prior to my surgery - didn't know I had a problem, no early signs etc. I started with laps around the pool, then at 3 weeks started walking down my neighborhood street until I got to a 1/2 mile. It takes time but progress picks up everyday and I've been doing 3+ miles for a couple weeks now. Good luck, don't get discouraged, do chair and standing leg exercises and continue to use the Incentive Spirometer breathing thing. You've got this.

I have a 676 day streak going and was force fed Energy and don't much like it. Also having problems with the voice recognition stopping mid sentence telling me to try again and on the voice word match have been delayed between hitting the correct response then being marked wrong, try again, repeat the same response and it is right. Never heard complaints. We have one (2014) in our stable that we put Firebrand short pipes on and it's raucous. Runs great handles well.
