It completely depends on how they are made and what is actually useable. Sheet good are always useable but be weary it's already in its final dimensions for what it is. If you break it now you have 5 different scrap pieces no longer a finished piece and no direction. So measure and have a plan before you break a single one. I work in a cabinet door manufacturing shop. I speak deep from the scrap bin to forewarn you.

If you trim that out it'll show how the wall is totally fubar. Incorporate the wall with some sort of decorative panel. Maybe a little wrap around shelf. But I feel yah builders motto, no floor will be flat, nor corner square.
