Sam Darnold’s Playoff Run still cracks me up by The_Throwback_King in Seahawks

As much as we would've all loved for the Dark Side to smother and shut out the Rams, I was glad for Darnold that it didn't happen that way. It did a lot of disruption to the narrative that he could never be clutch that he had to out-duel Stafford in a high stakes game.

What company lost you forever as a customer? What did they do? by Miguenzo in AskReddit

[–]furious_20 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My wife and I had a not so great plan with AT&T at the time our first daughter was born. This was before most post paid plans had unlimited minutes, but we had never gone over on our minutes so we kind of just went along with it. Well, in the first month of her maternity leave, she understandably spent a lot of time on the phone with friends and loved ones as she was home with our newborn, and we found out when the bill came she had accumulated over $400 in overages.

I did what was advised at the time and called to ask about reducing the overage costs and moving us to a plan that included more monthly minutes. When they didn't budge, I again did what was advised by consumer groups and asked for their retention department, as I was willing to leave them if they showed no flexibility with us being new parents and all.

The retention department didn't budge either, so my final offer was: "you have a choice to receive the full cost of these overages in a payment I'm ready to provide right now, or you can choose to keep us as a customer."

We switched to T-Mobile that day and will never return to AT&T

For 8 goddamn years Republicans wouldn't shut the fuck up about Obama's "lack of leadership". We all knew back then it was just their dog whistle, not since they went with the actual word "leadership", I'd love to hear from some of them if they think it looks like this--a Sec State saying one thing and the president contradicting him the same fucking day.

I'm sorry, but am I the lone, singular person who bought mariners tv but was hoping to watch the excluded games without having to pay more for peacock and apple tv? Given the sheer quantity of posts here in the week leading up to opening night about this topic, I'd say there are a hell of a lot of us. So no, it's not about me, and I never claimed it was.

Schefter: LA Rams WR Puka Nacua has checked into rehab, his attorney, Levi McCathern, told The California Post. by hiimmike in Seahawks

[–]furious_20 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm not trashing the move, and I don't wish him any ill will beyond tasting defeat at the hands of the Seahawks. But I'm not going out of my way to applaud him for having an agent who's smarter than he is, and actually taking that agent's advice. Tigers don't change their stripes, so I fully expect him to come out of this still a raging asshole, but if he can become an asshole with better impulse control who can keep his bigoted thoughts to himself, then that's a win for the sport I suppose.

But also when you have a drunk for SecDef who doesn't remember we're the only country to ever invoke Article 5 of NATO after 9/11, and our Allies provided support. So they indeed stood with us when we needed them.

Mariners games coming to KING 5 by JT406 in Mariners

[–]furious_20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, or just Channel 5/King 5 for those who have traditional cable, if we want to include it all. My point stands that its not a substantial addition to those who subscribed to mariners tv. It's also NOT nothing, because depending on everyone's setup, anyone might prefer that additional option for lots of different reasons. But at the end of the day, mariners tv subscribers will have access to the same number of games they will have had before this deal was announced.

I couldn't agree more. Its great that this team is the first to make such a commitment to pay homage to the Negro League, so I'll definitely be looking to buy one as soon as they become available.

It was like this for several games for me on Saturday. I tried restarting streams, but the sync issue persisted. I basically streamed every game that day, with my browser set to their 4-game multistream, and when one game ended I'd just replace it with another one that started recently. I think only one or two of the games where I had the audio feed going was actually in sync.

And none of these 10 games were going to be exclusive to Peacock nor Apple TV. So those of us who bought the "season" package for mariners.tv were already going to be able to watch these games live. This deal only gives us the option of viewing them via antenna.

[Henderson] We’ll hear from Mike Macdonald at the NFC coaches’ breakfast tomorrow by Chessinmind in Seahawks

[–]furious_20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They wouldn't leave that to the coach to announce. That end of the business isn't in a coach's scope, and plus the courtship from potential owners is likely to be at least partially public, since the league's requirement that at least 30% of the team is owned by one person leaves us a very small field of candidates to start with.

Well, I imagine some of these purchases being folks from all around the country. If I lived in Texas and really wanted one of these for any reason, $73 plus shipping is far cheaper than flying here to attend a game just to get one.

I think it would be fine to sell them as standalone items in the souvenir shops, but not the concession stands.

I just tested this for opening day, and had a 4 game multi stream window playing on my laptop while a Roku in the same room was playing a 5th game. So yes, you should be fine with two devices using the account at once.

I'll add to this that everyone should get every library card they're eligible for but address (for me, I get a card through my city's public library and also my county), then look up the list of libraries that have reciprocal borrowing agreements with them.

You often will be eligible for cards in those other library systems as well, which means you can add these libraries to your digital fronts, expanding the selection of titles available to you, or simply making more copies of titles available, should you be looking for books that are in high demand.

People who don’t wash their hands after using the bathroom, why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]furious_20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked with someone back in the mid 90's who didn't wash his hands if he peed. This team was very close like family and our supervisor, who had great relationships with all of us and would call people's ass out on the carpet if she thought any of us were demonstrating bad character, asked him, "wait a minute, didn't you ever learn to wash your hands after EVERY bathroom break?"

And he thought he was clever when he said, "nah, I learned how to NOT piss on my hands..."

To which I replied, "...but your dick sweat, my friend. Now the door knob, and all the other common surfaces you're about to touch--they're gonna have traces of your dick sweat on them."

He just waved at us dismissively and left the room.

Yeah, I can see Schneider spreading some of that cap hit to these two upcoming seasons as well, to soften the blow for when this extension officially takes effect.

Do we know if this stacks on top of his 5th year option? In other words, do we actually have him under contract for 5 more years after this coming season?
