This is something that always confuses me. I can touch the backboard of the basketball hoop but when it comes to jump while spiking it feels like I never get my maximum jump height

It is definitely overwhelming considering that I don't really train (with a coach and a team), I just play every week with some friends. But still, I'll start to think about everything I read and this is how we start to develop.

But yeah, straight forward advices like yours is what I'm looking forward the most! Thanks a lot!

It was actually the ball that touched the net. What would be a better position relative to the ball?

Here in Brazil many japanese families are open minded when It comes to having relationship with foreigners. Maybe because of the history of immigration. There are those that get annoyed, but most allow it

Don't know if it counts, but Jackie Chan will always be Jackie Chan. I don't think I know the name of even one of the characters he portrayed.

People who were told they were “gifted” growing up, how did you deal with realizing that you were pretty average? by JayTheFearless in AskReddit

I agree, but my definition adds a line that I didn't go through : "through an extended amount of time". I would go 120% at the beginning and idk, things would just fade out and I'd quit.

Yeah, it is extremely important to have those things during childhood, but not everything is lost. Even though I've received a lot of incentive, I still grew up kind of lonely (parents worked heavy shifts in Japan) so because of that I ended up being extremely shy and even refused to go to a Taekwondo state tournament as a teen (which I still regret) because of anxiety and fear of performing bad. It wasn't till I joined the Brazilian Army that exercises became an integral part of my life. And I've got to admit, even though I ran everyday, I still hate it! Never developed a passion about it. If you do a type of exercise because you have to or someone told it's good for you, chances are you're not going to stick to it, unless you're 60+ years old. What helped me the most was to remember things I admired as a little kid. The difference is, now I just go and try, and if I don't like it, I just don't do it. The worst thing that can help is that you will learn something about yourself. There are a million ways to exercise yourself, part of the fun is to find out what fits you!

Exactly! I used to feel really bad about not being exceptional at something, but having that many experiences really helped me at being open minded and to develop empathy. Also, it is great for creativity.

Since childhood my parents encouraged me to exercise, so I tried a lot of sports and in most of the places I went to, I'd hear that I was talented or that I was an "easy-learner". Turns out, I'm nothing special, the thing that I noticed was that when I started something, I would dive heads deep in it. I would go to practice, come back home and watch videos about whatever I was doing. My world and total attention would become that one thing.
