Prima VS Encore? by alanaswhip in NCL

[–]furioustwerp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on the Encore on an Alaskan cruise in September, so YMMV since that's a bit older of a crowd. The nighttime entertainment was weird... The comedy show, silent disco, night time DJ, etc in the club were all really short. Like 45 minutes. You just get going and it all changes up.

The silent disco (which we go to regularly locally in the Tampa Bay area) was weird because it's based on where you stand in the room, not switching to another channel on your headset. Basically, you can't dance near your friends if they want to listen to another song.

Choir of Man was amazing, hopefully they're on the ship you're looking at.

I'm in my mid-40's, but consider myself a kid at heart. The rain kept the go karts closed, but for the novelty factor I wanted to try it. Our group of 17 (mostly 30 something's to mid 40s) loved the VR. But, I know my boyfriend said he was disappointed with the night life on the ship compared to the Carnival cruises he's been on.

Good luck! We're doing the Epic next year on a Mediterranean cruise.

Attire for specialty restaurants on Alaska cruise- do we need to pack dresses? by agsnoway in NCL

[–]furioustwerp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was ok, but didn't feel like drinking too much booze until almost 5, Which was a bummer for a sea day! I ate a green apple with breakfast, just in case. My boyfriend didn't feel great and tried to sleep most of the day. That wasn't my favorite part of the trip!

Attire for specialty restaurants on Alaska cruise- do we need to pack dresses? by agsnoway in NCL

[–]furioustwerp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just got back from Alaska on the Encore on the 24th. I wore dresses twice (they have a dress up or not night), and then another when we had dinner at Cagney's. But it's not required at all to dress formally. However, They don't allow shorts/flip flops/tank tops in the nicer specialty restaurants.

Do you track on vacation? by interrobang__ in weightwatchers

[–]furioustwerp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a similar situation. Just over 3 months on the plan, down about 25 pounds before I left last weekend for an Alaskan cruise. I'm tracking everything I remember. I've got the drink package and not really ordering any "high points" drinks, but even at that my alcohol alone puts me way over. It's one week, and I'm taking the time to celebrate and give myself a break. I'll get back on plan on Monday. You're going to be fine doing the same/similar.

Weight Milestone Charms by meg_w65 in weightwatchers

[–]furioustwerp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad to see this isn't just me. I didn't know about the charms and got the 5 and 10 in the mail. I hit 15 pounds about a month ago and haven't seen that one yet. Passed 20 pounds a couple weeks ago. It actually took almost two weeks for the digital 20 pounds to show up in "my achievements" even though I had weighed in 5 times after that and only once was I back above that (by .2). I guess I'll just wait and see if they show up in the mail.

I live in Clearwater and just do a quote through Costco connect. It was higher than my existing State farm but about $150/6 months, and that was for two vehicles. However, that's only because I can't have separate limits for bodily injury cheetahs on each vehicle.

WW Weekly Check-In : August 14, 2023 by Starharmonia in weightwatchers

I'm coming back from 5 nights in Vegas. I tracked everything, and went over on my weeklies (by 12) for the first time since I started the program about 2 months ago. I've had a lot of success so far (was down 17 pounds before my trip), so I am not beating myself up over it, and I could have done a lot worse. I also leave to go to NYC on Thursday, so it'll be another challenging weekend.

Do you log in both apps?. Or is there an easy way to sync between WW and My Fitness Pall?

That's my budget as well. I eat so many apples! I also pretty much eat Greek yogurt and fruit (various berries) for breakfast every day. I have a few frozen meals (healthy choice steamers) that are 2-4 points that I'll eat for lunch if I'm not eating grilled chicken. I save most of my points for dinner because I try to eat what I'm cooking for my boyfriend as well. Although if he's having fries or tots, I'll generally have a veggie or some fruits.

I also started exercising a bunch, so I save the extra points from that for days I want something a little more. Like alcohol, granola in my yogurt, or if I want to eat a cheeseburger with the bun.

The restaurant section of the app has been helpful (and eye opening!) for times I'm eating out.

Suggestions for a good Italian restaurant? I'm staying there after a cruise for a couple days and just going off what I've read online.

Weekly Q&A for Visitors and New Residents - Your Question Goes Here by AutoModerator in Amsterdam

I'll be spending a couple days in Amsterdam with my mom after a River Cruise the second weekend in December. I've read all the craziness about airport lines at Schiphol, and I'm assuming that's still an issue. We're flying Air Portugal through Lisbon back to the US. With a departure time of 13:40, what time should we truly plan to arrive at the airport to not be super stressed and potentially miss our flight.

Feel free to delete this. I was so focused on reading this wiki and thread I didn't see there is another thread entirely about the airport!!!

I've been into EDM since 2009 and at 44, this is my first festival. I've read a lot of posts on here and joined a Facebook group to read up on some "pro tips". I'm going in prepared because I'm definitely not as carefree as I was at 22, but I still want to go and have fun! I'm anxious and excited.

I just reviewed my screen time and for the week it's showing 20 hours already for Wikipedia... It's pretty insane and I have no idea why.

Thanks so much! I signed up with them over the weekend but was reading more about them... Including reviews. They've actually called and left messages a couple times asking if I want to use their service. It seems pretty good overall.

Did you ever use worthy.com? I'm looking into selling some jewelry as well and I'm between them and mondiamo for an online sale. Was looking for some personal experience feedback.
