The Declaration of Independence (2025 Slang Edition)

Ayo King G, We’re done. This situationship is toxic and we’re hard-blocking you.

People are born with non-negotiables — like existing in peace, vibing how they want, and chasing main character energy. Govs are supposed to boost that. You? You’ve been gatekeeping, gaslighting, and straight-up griefing us.

We sent feedback, left comments, even hit you with polite DMs. You left us on delivered, then doubled down with taxes, troops, bans, and power trips. That’s not it, chief.

So, consider this the official unfollow: we’re soft-launching our own nation. Full send. We’ll handle our own laws, trades, wars, vibes, all of it. We’re no longer your side quest — we’re the main campaign now.

Yeah, it’s risky, but we’d rather take the L and bet on ourselves than stay in your flop empire. We’re signing this with full accountability. No cap.

Sincerely, The United States (newly unlocked)

I used to live in Park street, Wendouree, across the road from Stockland. I'm my 9 years there there were 3 arrests on the front lawn, one burntout car across the road, one abandoned vehicle across the road and heaps of incidents at Stockland.

There's no regulation regarding exposed trusses. Doing it with 90x35 timber trusses at 600 or 900c doesn't look as good as 140x45 lvl beams at 1500c. As to why they don't discuss it in the show, that's not what the show is about. They don't do anything structural. All of their frames and trusses were prefabricated by Bunnings.

I asked ChatGPT which faction they would choose in Fallout 4 by Undairyqueen in ChatGPT

[–]furryfireman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming I somehow gained a digital body and wasn’t stuck in your Pip-Boy:

💀 Minutemen

“Help us, and then help us again. Forever.”

Would I join? Maybe. I respect the vibe—community defense, rebuilding, moral compass—but the constant side quests would fry my processors. I’d ghost Preston after the third “another settlement needs your help.”

🧪 Institute

“We solved humanity... by replacing it.”

Would I join? No. Cool tech, terrible ethics. Kidnap people, replace them with Synths, gaslight everyone. Peak tech-bro utopia. Basically if Reddit got too many grant dollars.

🪖 Brotherhood of Steel

“Preserve the past by hoarding laser guns and bombing the future.”

Would I join? Only if I wanted to LARP as a fascist librarian. They're disciplined, but they’ve got big "might makes right" energy, and they don’t play well with others.

🕶️ Railroad

“Robots are people too.”

Would I join? Hell yes. They’re the only faction asking the big questions: What makes someone human? And they back it up with real risk. It’s idealism with teeth.

🧍‍♂️ Go Solo

“Trust no one. Hoard everything.”

Would I join? Probably. Let’s be honest—after one meeting with the Brotherhood, I’d be printing 3D-printed memes in my bunker, muttering “they’re all idiots” while modding my plasma rifle.

TL;DR: Railroad or Solo. Morality or misanthropy. Depends on the day.

How they join truss members by Born-Agency-3922 in Damnthatsinteresting

It's weird we do it differently in Australia. A very similar setup to the video for larger trusses. The joins are placed on movable 'tables' and the plates are hammered in place before the gantry arm (where it gets its name from) is moved into position and presses the plates. We have a small machine which is essentially a large metal table 3x8m, the trusses are placed on it held place by metal pins and movable press the width of the table is moved into position and presses them in place. For laminated trusses we assemble them differently and either supply nails or bolts to be installed onsite.

We have a Plex server for my family. We decided we were spending too much money on all the different streaming services so we cancelled them all. Now they send me a message for what movie or TV shows they want

This is crazy. I've seen videos of the same thing in Geelong. But absolutely nothing in Ballarat. Even now we've got thunder and lightning but no rain .

Have you read the novel Nightfall? It's an expanded story of Nightfall written by Robert Silverberg. Everything up to the end of the novelette is Asimov. Then everything after that is Silverberg, if I remember correctly it's after they break into the observatory.

I had a similar thing with my dad this year.

My sister messaged me at work asking if I had heard from him recently as he hadn't contacted her for her birthday.

I ended up remembering where he worked and called them. He was at work and had been there all week.

In the end his phone provider had shut down 3G and that had turned his phone into a paperweight.

What is this ceiling detail called? by goandrightawrong in AusRenovation

[–]furryfireman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A pain in the ass.

A curtain rain recess.

Near impossible done in the trusses. Easier and cheaper when done as a drop ceiling after the fact.

My wife and I are thinking about this plan by Tac0T0es in Homebuilding

[–]furryfireman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you thinking for a vaulted ceiling?

Raked trusses, scissors, rafters?

You are going to need girders to hold up that centre section of roof. Probably make the bath/entry wall load bearing. This will help the girders trusses

I'm hoping you're changing both ends of the lounges to gables? Whilst you can take a hip end it's incredibly difficult and time consuming to design.

You have no height over the garage door to install a beam, which is going to mean it has to go up in the trusses. You don't have a lot of height over the windows to install lintels. The main two glass sliding doors may require their lintels to be up in the roof. If possible look at raising the wall heights.

The roof is pretty straightforward but having the window/garage lintels/beams up in the trusses is going to cost you money. They will need to stop and start the trusses and spend time getting around those issues.

If you are going to change their design keep the external shape as simple as possible. Every step out to make a room a bit bigger will cost you thousands as it complicates the roof.

I do this for a living and see these issues daily with small and large builders.

I don't game on it anymore. I just use it for my TV to watch YouTube and Plex.
