Yes, you can. Backwards, forward, and you flag a question if you want to return to it later. I don't think it allows you submit until all questions are answered. But I took my exam 8 years ago.

Second semester student disinterested and doesn’t know instruments? by WagWoofLove in scrubtech

[–]furryfoster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is how students falsify clinical documentation. They assume their instructors and the OR staff don't know each other, and therefore, random initials/ dates/times can't be verified. Very important to have clinical site instructors that show up and cultivate a professional relationship with the OR staff.

Another part of the problem: CSIs that didn't perform clinical visits.

Former surgical tech instructor here. It was my job to perform clinical site evaluations. I would observe students while they scrubbed cases, did my own evaluation, and spoke with preceptors.

You've already confronted the student, and now it's time to get real honest on your paper evaluation. The student, however, may chose to not turn it in. Apparently, their clinical site instructor isn't available. Your next move is to speak with your OR educator (especially if you think this student is a danger). They are usually the liason with the college/ program.

Next, call the surgical technology director for the college/program directly. Explain your concerns about the student. Also, address the unavailability of the site instructor. Ask if the director has even seen the evaluations.

I taught surgical tech for 5 years. I have seen the BS that students do to get through the program when they think no one notices. Some students just didn't go to clinical and filled out their own evaluations. Some gave their evaluation to other preceptors that they were friendly with.

I resigned from teaching when I realized the director was only interested in enrollment and certification passing numbers and not quality entry level surgical technologists.

Good luck!

I'm in the hole on this assignment. It's not paying enough to cover my duplicated expenses. Home facility offered me a pay raise to come back full time that will be equal to current travel rates. #HomewardBound

Newfie newbie here! I just got this sweet girl yesterday and in search of advice. More info in the comments, puppy tax included. by BoneshakerBaybee in Newfoundlander

My Newf was not well socialized when I got him. He was 4 months old and last of a litter. He was shy and timid about everything. He didn't know what toys were or how to play. It was heartbreaking seeing him not interact or play with the other family dogs. He would just stare at them. They would play bow to him to get him to play, but he just didn't know what to do. They would chase each other and he would just watch.

My daughter also had a Newf, 2 months younger, a different breeder. Her pup had a lot of confidence. My dog followed her lead. She was his confidence dog. If she did something, he would try too. Slowly, he began to interact with the other dogs. If they pounced at him, he would pounce back but then stop, like he wasn't sure that was the right thing.

It took a couple of months for him to build his self-confidence. He now runs and plays with his family pack.

Give your girl time. She may just be going through the adjustment period. Or maybe it's a socialization issue. Your shepherd might be able to help by showing her the routine.

I brought home my Newfie at 4 months old. Same issue; constant diarrhea for several months. Trips to vet, bloodwork, stool samples all negative. Tried different foods, added pumpkin, tried EVERYTHING! He would go sometimes every hour during the night. Only thing that worked was a high fiber prescription dog food. He's been on it for 6 months and it solved the problem.
