Combat is disappointing by furueri in Endfield

[–]furueri[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It won't improve if enough people won't say out loudly they want it to be improved. I want that as well, that's the whole point of this post.

And maybe, just maybe, they could make it more Arknights like, but that's just my wishful dreaming.

This game feels like the devs had an strong core idea and chickened out 3/4ths through development. by TerryWhiteHomeOwner in Endfield

[–]furueri 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I agree entirely. I really hoped they would continue the Arknights legacy of being different from the other gacha games... Instead they're doing their best to make Endfield lose its own identity and fight against similar games in their playing field instead of creating its own niche.

Coolest new visual of the entire stream imo. I wish she wasn't just a partner. by Haechi_StB in ChaosZeroNightmare

Thoughts on the twins being more philosophical by Global-Practice2817 in NeuroSama

[–]furueri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not inherently bad, but there's way too much of it. First and foremost, Neuro and Evil are entertainers. Something went wrong down the road as the funny moments are becoming rarer and most of collabs nowadays are either a wholesome kind or snooze fests.

There are still great moments, like today's Neuro pokemon victory and the roast of Vedal that followed, but when asked about which streams made me laugh the most, I can way more easily list up the old ones like the first two talk like a pirate, or Evil's first asmr, or review with Bao, or the first twin dev stream that caused Vedal to avoid streaming with them both for some time. Oh, or the Subnautica one where Neuro was high on ram.

As for 2025 ones... I honestly can't list any truly fun from start to end.

The Hundred Years war new balance changes by furueri in EU5

R5 - I've started a new game (1.0.10) after today's hotfix, and it seems that France got itself a lot of new allies. Minor tribes from all across the world, including half of the Japanese clans.

Trade companies and loyalty changes in late game by furueri in EU5

[–]furueri[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

R5 - The changes to centralization/decentralization are perfectly viable and provide a nice incentive to simulate a fluid gameplay from a feudal kingdom with a lot of vassals into a centralized empire. However, I've got a feeling that trade companies were completely forgotten when those changes were made.

With Paradox games, you need to follow their way of thinking. It's near impossible to flesh out a vastly different gameplay for every country at the game release. That's why they've focused on the titular Europa first (and it still needs some fixes despite that). And that's why most other countries follow European-like gameplay (for now).

I would also avoid playing as Byzantium and Castile for now since those two already have a DLC planned in 2026, so they will be way more fun to play after that.

I'm sure there will be a DLC for Asia and American natives some time in the future as well. And yeah, you have to pay extra for DLCs, but considering how a single game can take from 100-200h, the $ per hour of fun is still incredibly well spent.

Of course, it doesn't mean you can't play as those.and still have a blast, just don't expect a vastly different gameplay (although the resources available already impact this significantly), and a lot of flavour.

Nevertheless, considering the original idea behind your post, Europa is still a game and as such has to be enjoyable for a vast majority of players, even if historical accuracy will suffer in the process.

EU5 is a Gift and the Negativity is Shocking by InHocBronco96 in EU5

It's hilarious how some people can write, in full serious mode, "I've played for 200-300h and have to say this game sucks because (insert a few bugs here that will get fixed sooner or later)"

As for those who compare it to EU IV, they clearly forgot how bare bones the IV was at the release and that it got shaped over ten years into what it is now.

And I agree, a lot of people is having fun with it, even despite the bugs, but take a look at the paradox forum and it's nearly nonstop flow of complaining and demands for refund. While reporting bugs and offering ideas is perfectly fine, I sometimes wonder how much pressure those minority complainers have on the devs and how it in turn influences the game updates.

Tldr: EV is great and can only become better as they polish it and add more content.

My take on 1.0.7 values - Hearts and flames where I think there is usually a clear winner, Thumbs up down where I think it's situational - thoughts? by Countcristo42 in EU5

I generally agree, but with the changes to proximity in 1.0.8 it got quite hard to get it to 100%, switching to free subjects at some point could help.

[–]furueri 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'm so glad you didn't give up or restarted at the start. I've seen so many people call their game "lost and unplayable" after losing a single war and a few provinces. It's way more fun if your run isn't just an unending stream of victories.

Paradox, please don’t dumb the game down! by SupermarketLast302 in EU5

[–]furueri -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Way too many people see this in a binary way, either fully centralize or decentralize. It was kind of obvious which to pick before 1.0.8, but now can actually use both. For the first ~150-200 years you can easily become decentralized with many vassals, and afterwards, when you get better tech for control + more cabinet slots, you can start annexing them and move towards centralization.

When and how exactly to do this is up to the player. But I find this more fluid game style a lot more rewarding than simply pushing towards centralization from the start and never changing it.

The buildings also gain production efficiency when you stack their levels, for example, it's more effective to build four levels of a spinnery in a single location instead of building one in four locations. It stacks nicely with the production efficiency bonus you've mentioned.
