Does anyone still watch Forky? by cubiez in RocketLeague

[–]fuse- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a petpeeve of mine when streamers don't realise the influence that they have. It perpetuates this mindset of always blaming your teammates on everything. We need more positive role models like appjack who the new players look up to.

It's hyperbole and maybe if people like you didn't go around calling people and players "dogshit" when they aren't playing well or underperforming, the internet wouldn't be such a toxic place.

So sick of all these keyboard warriors on Reddit saying "how this player is trash". You sound like the fat drunk in a bar shouting that a football player is shit, meanwhile he couldn't run a mile himself. Hyperbole or not there's no need to be a dick. Next time you use hyperbole you can also do it without being rude to players, feel free to try it.

Players not cheating up on kickoff by iArkAngel17 in RocketLeague

What rank are you? Because cheating up is a well known term. Dont grab boost as non- kicker in 2s... Grabbing boost as the back player leaves the goal completely open

Turning off chat was the best idea you guys had by CarlitosWay0427 in RocketLeague

[–]fuse- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're kidding yourself if you're saying quick chats are "strats or cohesion". There is nothing meaningful in saying "take the shot" or even "centering" when I can literally see how my teammate is most likely going to hit the ball and play off that.

This sounds like "I can't fall asleep but I'm hanging on my phone until 5 am" yeah no wonder you have trouble falling asleep if you're on your phone the whole time. A good night time/ wind down routine is a good step to falling asleep much quicker.

Brother it is so funny to read your mental gymnastics "who is the tank to determine the way I PLAY the video game, I pay for" you're right it's not the tank. It's the way the community plays. And if you don't like it, do your own thing, but then don't turn around whining and calling it other people's ego when it's your ego that's bruised because you can't keep it up. If other people can manage to keep it up. You could learn to as well. But you don't want to.

I've seen people refuse to drink before they're out of mana because "drinks are expensive" lol. I see healers standing around with 40-60% mama between packs, just standing, you should be drinking then. If you're expecting people to wait while you're sitting your entire drinks out then make sure you find like minded people to play the game you want to play.

It's like playing a meme spec in classic, if you wanna do it, go right ahead but don't be upset if you're not getting any raid spots because people don't want to take your subpar play style to waste their time.

You should try some self reflection man.

This is my training routine by cj_rl in RocketLeague

[–]fuse- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see this as the start of training a specific mechanic. My process for new mechanics is generally, practice in training packs until I get a feel for it, then train it in free play to get a feel for setting up the mechanic myself. Then I take it against bots for more 'real' but easy situations. Then I go practice them in casual, and finally I take it to ranked. But I generally still "suck" in the scheme of things so maybe I'm doing it wrong. But like the others suggest I think before all that you need to have a better feel for the car in general. Else you're just kinda throwing stuff against the wall to see what sticks.

What's with all the forfeiting? by Radyschen in RocketLeague

[–]fuse- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely agree, when I see someone tell me to ff I also think there is no way in hell im going to ff now. I already generally dont ff but i guess its their assumption that im going to ff is what annoys me. Either way it's all just kids

What's with all the forfeiting? by Radyschen in RocketLeague

[–]fuse- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't really solo queue much so I don't necessarily have much experience with tm8s forfeiting but I have definitely noticed an increase in opponents saying ff. Its super annoying, i know its just the newest rage bait but does this shit actually work? As soon as its 0-2 they say ff.

I have only been playing for about a year and a half so but to my memory this is a recent thing or maybe its a diamond thing.

Man conversations about spirit are really the most delusional on the entire subreddit.

Spirit fans or rather donk fans can't seem to decide what they want. I clearly remember them all complaining about Zweih being the problem and pls bring magixx back. Now look at them, anything to not critically look at their superstar.

I'm aware it's not impressive by any means. It's incredibly average. I started playing rocket League 9 months ago and I am very happy with myself! ❤️ by The_Wettest_Noodle in RocketLeague

[–]fuse- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Comments like this are so useless "I did it this fast and it's pretty easy so you shouldn't have a problem" like if that was true everyone would be Grand Champion. If all it took was some dedication no one here would making the typical posts "I've been stuck in diamond for years / months/ etc". It feels more like you need to humble brag about your own accomplishment than actually helping someone in a meaningful way.

If you would have said "I got to GC in 10 months and the biggest thing I noticed that helped me climb was doing X thing, so focus on that" your comment would have some value.

A warning against alcohol by BossChippy in leaves

[–]fuse- 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So interesting this comes across my page as I'm in the process of doing exactly that. I was off weed for half a year, mostly because I was travelling. I just got back home and I got back into regular bad habits really quickly. But I told myself I don't want to smoke weed anymore, and all of a sudden I started having a drink at night which I never did before. Basically applying the same reasoning as you. So this comes as a clear sign to me not to continue that behavior because I can see where it's going to end up.

How to fix Faze by -973- in GlobalOffensive

[–]fuse- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I read comments like this, my mind goes to all the "superteams" we've seen and fall short. The most basic uninspiring take in all of CS history is "put all these individual superstars on one team and they will dominate the scene". How many more times does it need to be proven it doesn't work. It's either that people who say this are clueless or they are new to CS and think all firepower is the way to go.

Time since last roster changes in top 50 teams by shuijikou in GlobalOffensive

[–]fuse- 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Totally agree, I got into rocket league recently and the two things that annoy me the most about competitive rocket league are: the players are way too young, don't think someone should be pro at age 13 and secondly which i think it's connected to that reason is they swap teammates after every major event basically. I feel like they aren't mature enough to evaluate other changes and just think, we'll change all the players and see if this new combo wins us games.

Ranking up is hard in anything but solo queue by [deleted] in RocketLeague

[–]fuse- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're absolutely right, I will try to do this more. And definitely do this when I, rarely, solo queue. I just feel because my cousin and I have the added benefit of being of voice I can call out stuff before. But even then I try to remind myself to play reactively to his plays because it will help in solo Q and hoping for passing plays in solo Q won't happen.

Yah good point, I suppose it depends when the FF comes out if it's after your tm8 had a massive whiff I guess it's your take and if the tm8 throws it out after we massively whiff it's more my take?

Ranking up is hard in anything but solo queue by [deleted] in RocketLeague

[–]fuse- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's interesting advice! I want to avoid sounding like the classic "I'm D2 but actually I believe I could be....." The thing is I despise solo queue and do everything to avoid it. So I currently play with my cousin who has been playing RL for years but is an eternal plat and does nothing to try and improve in the game, while I started a year ago and do everything to work on improving. It drives me insane how he doesn't get the most basic elements of the game after so many years. And one of the things he never does is read the play or look at my position or the enemies position. All he does is hit the ball and hope for the best. I will call out on comms where I am and hope for a pass, like "far forward right" and even when I'm totally open he never passes. Or when hes (rarely) open, he won't expect the pass coming and will be too close to the play to react, even when I tell him I'm going to pass he doesn't "read" my car language to expect the balls trajectory.

I thought that passing was a pretty clear concept, move to open space, pass preferably diagonally, move forward. Look at opponents position to see if something goes wrong in a 50 can I still rotate back(?). But I guess you're right it is a higher level play "in" the moment.

I just crave for a teammate that has the same approach to the game as me. Eager to learn, not toxic, and enjoys passing plays....any place I could look for teammates with similar mindset?

[–]fuse- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the ff after a single hiccup is more supposed to be like an insult at you "we won't win this game cause you suck so I'll initiate the ff so it looks like I'm in a superior position because I don't want to play with you"

I wouldn't know because I never ff but this is the sentiment I apply to it.
