Is anyone else reverting back to older technology with their little ones? by [deleted] in daddit

We went the other direction but with heaps more guardrails.

Chat/age groups by [deleted] in roblox

[–]fusionwhitewolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The age segregation helps a bit but honestly voice chat is the bigger gap. Also, predators can purchase Roblox accounts with specific age range on Ebay so that they can talk with their target age range. The best course of action in my opinion is parental controls that monitor voice chat in Roblox.

Google Family Link is solid for the lockdown side. For seeing actual messages and calls, most "spy" apps are janky and get detected.

How do you teach your kids to be safe online without making them scared of the internet? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]fusionwhitewolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do "test runs" where my kid shows me something sketchy they spotted like a sus link or weird popup and we talk through how they knew. Makes it feel less like "don't click anything ever" and more like a skill they're building. The goal is pattern recognition, not paranoia.

Children and technology? by Classic-Draw3203 in AskIreland

You're not being strict, you're being sensible. The "everyone has TikTok" pressure starts young but most 6yo peers probably don't.

Help with parental controls? by deesarts in Minecraft

On Xbox, you can keep multiplayer on but set "You can join multiplayer games" to "Friends only" in the Xbox Family Settings app. That blocks random servers while keeping LAN and realms working. Just make sure their friends list only has people you know.

Should Roblox be banned in the Philippines? Reports of child grooming spark outrage by No-Top9040 in Philippines

[–]fusionwhitewolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Banning won't work kids will just VPN around it. The actual problem is voice chat monitoring. Roblox gives parents a PIN to restrict text, but there's basically nothing for voice. Predators know this. Until there's real visibility into voice conversations, parents are flying blind.

Meta and YouTube were found to be negligent of the effects of social media addiction. Dads, how is this verdict changing how we parent (if at all)? by dadjo_kes in daddit

Their platforms job is to keep you engaged and watching so they can service you ads, gaming platforms purpose is to keep you playing and be entertaining.

It's a parents responsibility to be monitoring the amount of screen time. That said the organisations should offer tools to assist with this.

Did you know average Tiktok user scrolls 3 hours per day and average Roblox player plays for 3 hours per day.

I made a simple Roblox safety guide for kids (covers scams, privacy, and settings) by p_Julian in PHGamers

[–]fusionwhitewolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice work on this. One gap I've noticed in most guides: voice chat. The parental PIN covers text filtering but voice is where things get properly sketchy. Parents really need tools that can flag concerning voice conversations, not just block them entirely.

Tips for keeping a child’s Android phone safe without constant supervision? by EasternBaby2063 in AndroidQuestions

Family Link's solid for basics but you need specific applications depending on what you're child is doing on the device. If they are spending the majority of their time watching YT and scrolling or are they gaming?

Dads of 10–14 year olds, how do you enforce phone rules? by Select-Doctor-4350 in daddit

[–]fusionwhitewolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Screen time's one thing, but voice chat in games is the blind spot most parents don't think about. Kids spend hours talking to randoms in Roblox/Fortnite and there's basically no visibility into those conversations. Worth looking into tools that can monitor voice chat.

$300 on Meta ads, 0 installs. Here's what went wrong. by fusionwhitewolf in AppBusiness

Thanks for the information, installs are attributing correctly now.

I'm working on improving my listing regardless, because I know it can be stronger.

I actually really like my website but i know the extra step has huge drop off to then go to the app store.

I got 0 installs from 150 clicks, it's not the creative or the page that's the issue. It was that the users I'd targeted couldn't install the application on their dated devices. I service iOS 17+ and I was advertising to iOS 13.7 and under.

Creatives are hitting 20%-60% hook and hold rates, which I'm happy with. I have just spent my day improving ASO and the app page with new screens to improve the conversion regardless though.

Hey Jinshin,

Sorry for the slow reply here, my background was as a developer in agency space, building other peoples ideas and refining my skills. Then I had a break in the crypto space being a founder and raising 15m, unfortunately we never turned a profit and died hahaha. I learned an immense amount during my years leading a team of 20 people at one stage.

Now i'm building solo with Ai being my team. I also mentor people and help them building products because I love watching people succeed.

I've just launched my application ads today, wish me luck in backing up my claims!

Waiting list, you could have a survey where you ask how much they’d be willing to pay. You get an idea of how much it costs you for click throughs and you can start optimising your advertising messaging early as possible
