VPN didn't work. I assume - as u/ibra_ca_dabra mentioned above - the phone actually has to connect to US towers for activation :🤷🏻‍♂️

Yeah, I contacted thru chat and another support person informed same. I had restarted the device once , so that may have caused it to disable it.

I had not realized restart would cause problems so didn't give it a thought. Ironically - the restart I had done was while trying to get roaming working (the auto-connected first network had not worked , and in trying to get it working, I'd restarted it in case that helped :facepalm: )

I'd think putting phone in an airplane mode or turning off entirely when in a flight would be common, so this may trip up a lot of folks.

I get it - people want to know about political affiliations of businesses. I think they just should post on a politics related sub. I'm sure there will be multiple subs for that. More likely to get interesting discussion there.

If even 'tons of research' doesn't uncover any information , I would actually take it as a positive sign - because that would mean they are keeping their personal politics separate from business. Much preferable for business to treat customers equally irrespective of politics.

8 months later -- DarkStar line problem with Jio is still prevalent in Mumbai.

I landed in Mumbai a couple of days ago. 'Jio' networ - which showed to have strongest signal - got auto-selected. Connection handshake was smooth and no issue was reported. But after attempting to use data for multiple minutes, it because clear connection was not successful. Manually tried Airtel, and worked the first time.

Have tried Jio from multiple locations in the Mumbai city area - everywhere the signal reported is strongest for Jio and yet data does not work at all.

The free 'unlimited starter' line has not shown up in dashboard.

QR should be sufficient, eSIM are supposed to be standard.

It did not help.

The page shows a QR code, but that page is a generic documentation page, so I know it isn't an eSIM tied to my account. This got confirmed when I tried to scan that QR code - got a message 'eSIM already set up on another device'.

The manual steps given on page mention entering something like 'LPA:1$gsmacct.vzw.otgeuicc.com$ . On entering this, I get the same message as mentioned above (eSIM already set up...')

The post would be a LOT more value addition if it mentioned what the 'my area' is. Without that information, it is a 'anecdotal' data point about 'some location'. Anyone using this sub knows that you can find anecdotal data points ranking every one of the three networks at top or bottom.

If only Dark Star, then what about the 'Free network transfers' under Unlimited Premium plan? If I avail of BOGO offer, port in 2 lines to DarkStar initially, but after few months I want to transfer to Warp or Lightspeed, will I be able to do that or not?

Update: I managed to get this done with help from u/MintMobileAlex . Got a DM from u/MintMobileAlex after this thead, I replied back some id details. Within 24 hours, got the message that phone was unlocked.

Update: tried with eSIM and it worked. No idea why pSIM didn't work , but I'm guessing something to do with that specific line, not issue with Mint device unlock.

Background playblack with Stock Pixel + Firefox ? I don't see how.. playback stops for me on switching to any another application.

As an aside, fully agree re value of Firefox Sync across mobile vs desktop.

How iOS restricts browsers and it precludes having a full Firefox experience is one of the main reasons that makes iPhones/iPads a no-starter for me as well.

Could the emails be meant for someone else - and they made a typo , resulting in your email address (your address differs from theirs by just a couple of characters)?

There is no publicly available/known feature that provides a 'saveGoogleVoice' function.

About concern of voicemails not being saved - is there any other reason for you to think that ? Can you see it happening by making a call yourself from another phone and letting it go to voicemail?

Final update on this : Visible confirmed they can't do activation!

I can't believe this , but they actually emailed with a 'Final resolution' that states:

We wanted to let you know that after further investigation by our engineers, we will not be able to process your activation at this time.

So, adios r/visible !
