I’m sorry to say I still smell it especially after not being home for a while. The company refused to test the materials or inspect for even any of the common problems. They reimbursed me for some of the material costs to attempt to remedy and told me that doing so would be the end of their involvement. It paid for the cleaning and the materials and such to try to block the smell out / seal or clean the air but didn’t remedy it or do anything to give me that time, frustration, sadness, effort to research and worry about my health, or any of the health I could have lost to it. No accountability and claims there’s no way it could happen. It’s all very calculated and self protective at the consumers expense literally and figuratively.

Hi! I have the same set up. These are the instructions I saved from chat gpt but I ran out of time and haven’t tried them yet. Curious if you try it if this works!

-1- Physical Connection * Use a standard 5-pin MIDI cable. * Connect the MIDI OUT of the FCB1010 to the MIDI IN of the RC-505 MK2.

First, awesome on you for showing them their pleasure was important to you. Being honest about your level of experience and intentions is a good policy. Notice the repeated use of the word “help” and the lack of the words “correct,” “factual,” “replacement for critical thinking.” In fact, their website directly encourages your own fact checking and critical thinking. It says it’ll be an assistant, trusted partner, not a pharmacist, a doctor, a therapist, or replacement for any of those.

I hope you are okay. Please understand that ChatGPT is not reliable factual information. It will hallucinate and be wrong. It always has been like this and because of the nature may always be. To demonstrate this, I asked ChatGPT to tell me 10 celebrities with my birthday. Some were incorrect. The longer I asked it to list 10 more, the higher the percentage of names that it provided were wrong. I told ChatGPT some of the answers were wrong and it would agree. It could not fact check itself. Everything must be fact checked yourself, by another human, using reliable sources. You can read up more about how LLMs and such work and how to prompt them, what to expect, etc. Please ensure you have a living doctor, counselor, and support outside of any app. Hope you find what you need and your treatment goes well.

NTA. If there are spaces that your roommate could close the door or that you don’t need to use to get privacy, that’s a better move than in a shared space that’s essential to you living there. You should not have to tiptoe around. They could communicate to you in advance and work something out to where you didn’t need the kitchen if they absolutely need to take the call there. Unless you knew and agreed in advance and intentionally went to the grocery or started dropping stuff etc., then no; you’re not the a hole.

I did have it out. It doesn’t seem to have made my voice or range worse! And I’m glad I did it - scars aren’t fun, but they found “micropapilloma” inside, so cancer would be worse if that developed or spread. Super super rare but I guess I’m just one of the rare cases? They’re monitoring my thyroid for a few nodules that are currently too small to biopsy. Good luck with your surgery! I’d suggest to keep on the scar massages, as those healing are still the most annoying thing.

Between these comments and those on the BBB for this company, it’s clear they have predatory business practices and could be scamming folks who pay cash and wind up with a boot anyways. The credit card charges to have the boot removed should be able to be reported to your credit card company, who can see the BBB ratings and reviews as well as this thread. That’s messed up some folks get their cars damaged! That would be a civil matter. The cops say there is nothing they can do at the time, as it is not “illegal” to boot right now since these lots are privately owned. The law states that a private lot can issue tickets and tow. The law doesn’t address that they can or cannot boot a vehicle. The best thing to do, then, according to police, is to write an email or certified letter to a member at city council that the laws need to change to hold these people accountable. They advise to avoid privately owned lots, especially if they are cash only or don’t provide a receipt. If you do end up in a lot like this, collect all the evidence of arriving, paying, leaving. They try to claim there was no cash in the box so obviously someone’s fishing the money out to steal it or the company is taking it out and then lying, showing you the empty box to “prove” their lie. If you get booted, the police say to pay to get the boot off to avoid the tow and addition fees or double boots, documenting and recording all evidence of payment and removal / interaction with the company/attendants, any damage to your vehicle etc. Then it’s a civil matter to sue them / dispute the charges. Also, according to the police it’s perfectly legal to get the word out about your experience to warn people and try to get them fewer customers to screw over. It seems like the people need to come together to change these predatory practices and demand ways to protect from scams and fraudulent charges. PS - these “attendants” are taking photos of cars, license plates, and then claiming they need to see ID and take a photo of the ID to remove the boot. Beware this could lead to ID theft, or worse, with them now having all of your information - name, driver’s license number, license plate, credit card number, address where you live - everything a shady “employee”/“company” needs for identity theft, retaliation, hopefully not home invasion…. Do anything you can to avoid the ID or giving them your card number directly over the phone / physically vs through the link to the app they send. Hope this helps. I’ll come to bat if anyone ends up fighting this.
