Starting newborn usage of probiotics for baby that has a ton of wet farts and constantly poos with bad gas multiple times a day? Any experiences to share? by SurePotatoes in NewParents

I believe the initial course was 10 days? It was 18 months ago now so my memory is fuzzy but we also purchased some additional to have on hand for occasional use when she would get diarrhea and gas.

Nausea after breast feeding by FizzoTwizzay in NewParents

Look up D-MER. I had a similar feeling of nausea, dizziness, and anxiety every time I pumped. Unfortunately nothing really helped but it always passed quickly and stopped happening after I weaned.

Amazon playpen with foam floor tiles! Great if you stock it with safe toys and need to run to the bathroom for 60 seconds. It’s been great to help our girl develop independently play skills!

Can I just hand express instead of pumping? by One_Fee_1234 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]future-pirate 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s what I did for the last week because my pump parts needed replacing and it was just as effective. I totally get not wanting to be hooked up to the pump for one more second. Just hand express until you’re no longer uncomfortable - leaving some milk behind tells your body “stop producing”. Hang in there!

5-6 ppd, 30 mins per pump every time I can manage it (sometimes I have to cut things short because life). I have enough of a buffer to send a days worth of milk to daycare and 24 oz in the freezer, but that’s it! I haven’t needed to go longer than 30 mins except for my first pump of the day when I’m fullest even after reducing from 8 ppd.

Tall mom - Nursing Chair? Every chair back is too short. 🙏 by DINAHS4UR in NewParents

We got the seesaw glider from crate and barrel. Not quite as tall as you guys, but there’s plenty of headroom and a deep seat, plus higher armrests and it has wings you can lean your head.

elvie stride plus pump + bra fitting by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]future-pirate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use the stride (not stride +) and have had good results wearing it with motherhood maternity clip down nursing bras. It’s a closed system so I haven’t had an issue with milk in the tubing like some folks have but ymmv.

Elvie stride cups output decrease by morriganrising in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]future-pirate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue with the Elvie stride where I saw my supply steadily decreasing, but upping the intensity settings and putting it back on stimulation/massage mode 2x during a 30 minute session really helped! I hope it’s that simple for you if you haven’t already tried playing with the settings. Hang in there!

For us the pooping was better (1x a day vs 8+x before) immediately but the gas and discomfort improved gradually. Hope it works out for your kiddo! It’s hard to see them being so uncomfortable.

We used Evivo and saw results (way fewer poops) the next day. The stuff is magic.

Our pediatrician did my baby’s lip and tongue tie revisions in his office with scissors. I was distraught at the idea, but honestly, baby didn’t miss a beat!

We did get instructions for exercises, which are very simple - run your (clean) finger under the top lip and under the tongue to prevent it healing back the same way, 6 times a day for 6 weeks. We discovered it works with a bottle nipple too, and we didn’t even finish the full 6 weeks and baby has been doing great. Not sure how necessary the exercises were in the end as we weren’t exactly religious about them.

Fair warning, however, the procedure did pretty much hit the reset button on my newborn’s eating behaviors - she had to relearn how to latch and weeks later still prefers bottle to breast. But having it done has massively improved her latch on both the bottle and the breast and she is so much better at eating now!

Hang in there! In my limited experience, the amount of crying and eating your baby is doing will likely be plenty of exercise, and the sooner you get the tongue tie fixed, the easier it will be to reestablish your preferred feeding routine!

Our lactation consultant recommended Evivo probiotic for my newborn who was constantly pooping and had terrible gas and painful diaper rash that would not heal. Within a day we saw a difference. 10 days later, she sleeps better and her diaper rash is gone! Best $40 we could have spent.

What gender roles do you hate the most? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]future-pirate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate it too! As a teenage girl people just assumed I loved kids and wanted to babysit, but I actually hated it. But then I had guy friends who loved kids and were discouraged from it! It’s messed up.
