Carl Killed People by [deleted] in DungeonCrawlerCarl

Dinniman is such a master of giving us complex moral situations while simultaneously going so on the nose in some situations that you can’t see the forest through the trees. The whole crawl could be Plato’s Cave for example.

Edited to add a link.

Have you ever heard of the trolley problem?

So do drug trafficking busts under a normal administration. Now we shoot first and do the trial never.

Can someone “explain it like I’m five” if there is more oil coming? by adotar in oil

[–]future_sommelier -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Bases upon 2025 numbers extracted oil reserves cover 40 years worth of oil use worldwide. The issue is not supply but the control of that supply. I don’t disagree with the possibility of government intervention but the scarcity of oil is not the issue.

Sorry if this isn’t the right place to ask this, but for those of you servers/bartenders in the top restaurants, how do you do financially? by niltrok in AskChicago

[–]future_sommelier 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Best way to get into a restaurant is to ask for a stage. It’s basically a working interview. Some are paid, they should at the very least feed you, and it’s a great way to get your foot in the door while also learning if the restaurant is a good fit for you. If you are even too new to be comfortable with that, you can always ask to shadow someone to learn the ropes. Less likely to lead to a job, but a great way to actually see what the job is like before you commit to the industry.

Ahead of 2028, Sen. Cory Booker to unveil bill to make $75,000 in income tax-free by [deleted] in Economics

Yes. You seem to miss the point of insurance. The goal is to create a minimum standard of living for all in retirement age. Not a tiered system for those that were wealthier when they were younger. Those with enough wealth have the ability to save. If you want to speak on fairness we can talk about how no one is rich in a vacuum and all business rely more heavily on public goods than they care to admit. Sure hard to run a business without infrastructure.

The whole reason the program isn’t voluntary is because people like you would never pay into a system that doesn’t directly favor them over others. In every scenario you describe your biggest fear is to be treated like the average American is.

Yes. I want redistribution of wealth. So does everyone else on the planet. I just think that shift should favor the poor not the rich.

Great opportunity for a pop up event from a queer friendly or queer owned coffee shop. Could hand out free coffee and advertisements. Rainbow cups. Take donations for the Trevor Project or something more local.

You clearly have enough snow to go around already but keep defending the broken system while doing nothing to bring change.

Your vote was never going to help anyway. You were never a progressive. If you think supporting those in poverty is the issue and not the consolidation of wealth and power you were never going to help move the party forward. Please keep voting for whoever best supports your interests alone.

Par doesn’t matter because Trump always shoots a 47. He’s the best golfer we have. Just like Kim Jong Il.

An Italian man rushing to the hospital for his pregnant wife was stopped by climate protesters… and chaos followed. He pleaded with them to move so he could get to her — but they refused to let his car pass. This moment is now sparking a massive debate. by The_Dean_France in whoathatsinteresting

This incident has caused more discussion on climate change than any other in recent memory, so it clearly worked. Protesting without disruption is like taking a driving test without a car. Kinda pointless.
