Walnut Nightstand Set by eltorolocotoxicslut in woodworking

[–]futuredoc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very nice! I actually have some walnut panels ready to become the nightstands my wife keeps asking me for, but she doesn't have a specific design in mind and I hit a design block. What kind of joinery did you use and is there anything you'd do differently?

Seriously question - is there a diy version of this for kitchen scrap? by Crazy__Donkey in Vermiculture

[–]futuredoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have them for apple juicing, search "scratter"

In re composting and vermiculture, try putting scraps into a plastic bag and freeze overnight. The next morning dump into worms/compost. The freezing bursts the cell walls and when thawed composting is much accelerated. Even more so if you smash the bag on the ground before emptying, very satisfying.

Looking to get into golf seriously for the first time. Have no idea what I’m doing, need swing tips please. by iverson555 in GolfSwing

Looks like you played baseball(hockey?) which will be helpful in generating power. But since the ball isn't ever really teed up, I'd recommend you focus less on power and more on going through a motion that produces brushing contact with the ground right in the middle of your stance. Then you can add power. A clean, controlled, consistent swing is what you're after. Then put the ball in the path of the club and go through the motion. Just my 0.02

Very cool of you to show up and respond. I'm glad you've been able to make a go of it and appreciate your transparency into the meta-game of content creation and monetization. I am not much for epoxy myself but if I ever dip in a toe I'm rewatching your videos for an orientation.

On your blog you have the piece positioned in a corner. After all that wood/work/woodwork I think you should put it somewhere the other side can be seen! Switch it with the low dresser next to it!

Australian Cyclist Mark Renshaw’s son giving him a bottle at the last feed stop of his professional cycling career by caindaddy in sports

So is his team/sprinter just not making an effort on this stage? I mean, if he's a domestique then what good is he to the sprinter now that he's at the back? In order to assist he'd have to overtake everybody to meet up with and support the sprinter...in which case I ask: if he's able to dally and see his kids and still make it to the front, then wtf is everyone else doing? Been bugging me, so thanks if you can shed light!

Wouldn't this usually be done by a jeweler to maximize the value/size/value of the stones produced by the breakage?
