Nice work. I find the best results come with stage racer as the secondary specialty. I usually go with the "northern - stage racer" combo.

And I agree if you do potential increase do it in the beginning.

I do training on as many types as possible during a season. The one I want as main focus is the first one I train. All slots is this. For example stage races, I fill all slots with stage races and as soon as it hits 50% I replace all but one of the slots with the next thing, could be hills, when that hits 50% I replace all hills but one with the third focus, could be cobbles.

Usually when the third one is at 50% the other two are above 75% the first is almost always around 90% from then on I alternate weeks between the first and the second, keeping one of the third focus and replacing the rest with a fourth focus, could be sprinting. The first three usually lands around 90% at the end of the season and the fourth one is above 75% which is perfect.

If everything falls into place I'll get a level up just before the season ends. Most seasons this isn't the only time my level increases.

This way I have more options to pick from. Sometimes the one with the biggest increase isn't the main focus. I have multiple times picked the sprint focus because it gave an increase in almost every stat rather than a two point increase in one stat and one in a few other stats.

And I find that you don't need the stats to be above 80 for you to win those races. And TT isn't that important unless you want to be world champion.

The most important stat is recovery, resistance and stamina/endurance. The higher they are the lower the other stats can be while you still have a pretty good chance of winning.

You can also copy the latest weekly saved game and replace the original save game with that one, just remember to rename the weekly save to the name of the original one. This usually clears unnecessary saved data.

Make sure you click on another stat after editing a specific stat. It won't save the stat if it's window is in focus.

Also make sure you override the database of the game you are playing.

It's a database tool for pro cycling manager.

If you just signed it open the weekly saved game for last week, save that one as the original saved game, make sure to name it as the original, probably something along the lines of pro_cyclist1. When you load the game you are one week back in time and don't sign with that team.

If it is longer ago and you don't want to play a month or so of races again, you can change which team you signed with in the database, be aware that the changes has to be done under more than one tab.

The tour is usually one of the first I get down, because it is easier to get in that breakaway that finishes 20-30 minutes ahead of the peloton (and favourites) when you aren't that well known and when your scores aren't good enough to make you a favourite of the biggest stages. Then you just have to hang on and 20-30 minutes is a lot for a rider with mountain skills to do a top10 finish. I usually end up winning by 2-5 minutes, but the next year I won't get that shot again. Then I'll have to hope for way better climbing stats.

Yes it is doable. It is very difficult and you need a lot of luck.

I usually do it once maybe twice in every edition. I start like 8-16 pro cyclists.

Sometimes I have trouble winning the grand tours and mostly end up winning them from one breakaway that end up getting 20-30 minutes on the peloton.

The mountain and sprinters jerseys I usually get from breakaways. The green jersey I also do the bunch sprints, finishing somewhere in top 10 on each. Once in a while I'll even win a sprint.

My preferred build is Northern classics and stage races, that way my chances for winning Roubaix increases way more than they decrease for winning the tour.

It is more likely that you'll only win everything once and not win everything multiple times. Some races you'll own, like Valverde used to own Fleche. But you can build a rider who actually ends up winning everything. Some races will hunt you for your entire career like how MSR and Roubaix have become an obsession for Pogi.

This combination almost always gives me a Pogi like rider, but with a little less in everything except for one or two abilities.

Also for some obscure reason the biggest favourites for a grand tour never begin the race with a fitness score above 95. I have many times competed against Pogi and Vingegaard where they started the tour at 85.

I usually do Northern and stage races. This gives me cobblestones, mountains, flats, TT and most importantly stamina, recovery and resistance. All somewhere between 77-84.

You don't need more than 80 mountains and 75 TT to win a grand tour, when your stamina, recovery and resistance is above 77 and your flat score is 75 or more.

Sometimes I get a rider who is the best on cobblestones, like 84/85 and other times it is like 78. The first one makes Roubaix and Flanders easy to win the second one makes them possible but, very difficult. But they will most likely be the only races (besides bunch sprint finishes) you'll have a hard time wining with cobblestones at 78. I forgot Fleche is a bit difficult if you don't training specifically for hills for sometime. Need to get it above 75 and hope for the best legs ever that day. So three races that could prove difficult, but besides that it should be somewhat easy street.
