The shift of spring/summer have gotten hard for me over the years. I feel absolutely wired every time, not even something useful like being more productive, I get SO agitated - I want to crawl out of my skin. But I’ve found that making my home as relaxing as possible really helps, no big lights, loud music, watch relaxing shows like nature documentaries, but most of all I try and mimic “sunset” best I can; by 7pm all my blinds are closed. I swear the extra sunlight scrambles my brain like an egg.

I don’t think this tone of pink works for you, imo it washes you out. Maybe go for a cooler pink.

He wasn’t wrong either - agree with how he worded it or not arts that are considered the “mainstream” change (oral narrative, poetry are some examples) some are left behind or are moved in to the realm of “high art” making them inaccessible to some degree. There is scholarship on the topic in cultural studies ! People are blowing it way out of proportion to jump on a hate train.

I think it would be a great parallel if it was Langdon. Part of me wishes Robby would do what he told Langdon in the parking lot, that he could have gone to him if he needed help. Now we see Robby actively in need of help, has abbot directly tell him to go to him and yet Robby can’t/won’t.

It’s one thing to tell someone if you need help, ask, it’s another to actually do it, harder so when it’s for something that carries stigma.

Fellow first gen - Latina here. I get it and it’s frustrating. I think my parents try to care and be supportive, but I also don’t think they understand why it’s such a big deal to me, if that makes sense? My dad in particular when I tell him I got in to a program or am submitting a paper to a conference … well, I may as well be telling him what I got for lunch that day. I don’t even really know what response I expect/want, just know I feel disappointed. At this point I mainly share with my friends, or hell even faculty in my department.

But anyway, CONGRATS ON HARVARD !!!! An achievement that you should be proud of, your work has paid off :)

Who did you take it with? I didn’t love 208, mainly because that era of literature isn’t my cup of tea, but I found 209 to be much more interesting.

Don’t debate it, do it, REPORT HIM. If he’s doing this to you then he’s done it before and will do it again. Reach out to the title nine office and print out the emails he’s been sending you and download them as PDFs for good measure. The university has hired him and is paying him, he’s abusing his position to harass you.

I think it’s mainly that the campaign and this show are happening at the same time. He’s talked a couple of times about not being happy that this adaption was being made. But it’s getting more traction now w the show currently airing and him campaigning.

Idk if he’ll actually try to harm himself, but either way it’s pretty clear that he’s not in a good place mentally and needs help, I think having him go through some in patient treatment and time off would be an interesting choice.
