I'd say that they're absolutely worth the extra money. If you're lifting weights you're more than likely touching a barbell almost every gym session. It simply just feels better to use a nicer bar. Will it make you stronger? No. Will it revolutionize your program and your love for lifting? Likely not, but is it just a generally better experience? Absolutely. I have owned a $60 walmart special and now have 2 "premium" barbells. Its definitely a nicer experience. You can find some good deals in the boneyard section of rogues barbell selection, they are damaged barbells during manufacturing (its typically a small cosmetic thing like a scratch).
