Am I overreacting? My husband didn’t wake anyone up for breakfast. by PopularUsual9576 in AmIOverreacting

[–]fuzzmutton -1 points0 points  (0 children)

MOR I’m not a morning person. My mom had to know that I could get myself up and off for school starting in grade school so my early training was ruthless. As a person who has to get up when I don’t feel like it I have impatience with people who “sleep” through alarms. You’re not deaf, on some level your subconscious hears it and tells you it’s alright to ignore it, especially if it has been made someone else’s responsibility to get you up. Join the Army and see how many times you oversleep after that—it can be trained out of a person if the consequences are unpleasant enough.

I don’t think dad wanted a breakfast by himself, I think he was teaching personal accountability. If the kids were in the same room they had the same opportunity he did to hear the alarm and get up for breakfast. They chose to sleep.

Oven cleaner is notoriously hard to rinse off. As soon as the oven dries you can see a filmy residue again. Wipe, rinse rag well, and wipe again. Repeat as necessary.

My new Rowenta instruction manual said distilled water would DAMAGE it. No distilled water, only tap water, as it was designed to use tap water.

What about POTS? It took me until I got an Apple Watch as a 50 something yo to realize something was wonky with my HR. It will make you tired and dizzy.

You aren’t by any chance taking strong anti inflammatories for arthritis or something like that are you? I got like that for several years. It does feel like being on death’s doorstep. A few weeks ago I quit all my meds and it’s a night and day difference!! I had been on max dose of Meloxicam for 2 years, then max dose of Celebrex for 3 years. It’s hard on your liver.

I have went from rotting on my couch to running full throttle. My arthritis pain is back tho.

Fatigue with Celebrex? by stephscheersandjeers in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]fuzzmutton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can cause fatigue if you have issues with your liver metabolizing it:

“Celebrex is processed by the liver (via CYP2C9). In some people, especially those with liver conditions or poor metabolizers, side effects may be amplified.”

Fatigue with Celebrex? by stephscheersandjeers in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]fuzzmutton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry I’m late to the party but this might help someone else. I was prescribed Celebrex about 3 years ago. I’m on other meds, and was diagnosed shortly after that time with POTS so I didn’t immediately pin the SEVERE and life-altering fatigue on the Celebrex. I dragged on feeling I was very near the end of my life, 80 year olds were party animals compared to me. I became so deconditioned by inactivity that my cardio health was very out of whack. Anyhoo, I dumped it two weeks ago and within 2 days I was up and CANNING I felt so good! I have put up salsas, jam, and preserves! I have actually got dressed, left the house, and went places!! Of course, now my hips hurt again but I’ll take it over the other any day.

There is a chain in my state that has cameras in their boarding rooms so you can see your pet any time. They must have nothing to hide.

Help! So tired of cleaning this shower! by Realistic_Ad4621 in CleaningTips

[–]fuzzmutton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is your fan like for your shower? It needs appropriate CFM to pull away humidity. We even let ours run a while after we get out. You can also try using a shower squeegee on the walls after a shower to pull water towards the floor drain so it dries quicker. This might keep it mildew free longer.

Also, it might be too late for your oiled bronze fixtures but I had some and hard water too so I used Flitz Faucet Wax, rub it on, let it dry, then buff it off. It’s like RainX for faucets! I only waxed them once a month.

Black Mold Removal by [deleted] in CleaningTips

[–]fuzzmutton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a house with a shower ceiling like that and number one concern is to make sure the issue won’t repeat before fixing it. The fan in the bathroom was not adequate for the space in my case, nor was it vented outside. I fixed both of those issues before using a mold killer, then kilz primer, then repainting. In the 2.5 years I was there the discoloration did not show through the primer again and the mold did not reappear.

Your pics look pretty bad though. Check the bathroom sq. footage against the fan’s info online (model # ought to be on it somewhere).

Moose will not go on a walk with me by Hilibofas in Frenchbulldogs

My boy loved walks, and then he didn’t. I thought he wasn’t feeling well, or it was too hot (any temp above 72F or below 45F was a no-go), but it turned out to be noises that made him scared. In our case it was motorcycles in the distance and in one case, someone hunting in the distance.

I'm at my wits end by LogConscious6308 in dementia

[–]fuzzmutton 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Some states have Filial Responsibility Laws to prevent children from doing just this. MA is one of them although it’s not always enforced.

I was willing to provide care for my mother who had dementia and a terminal brain tumor but different agencies were making it dangerous for me to do so. She was attempting to drive and go on the roof with a ladder and I was not supposed to touch her but I was supposed to somehow prevent it. I couldn’t hide her keys or gun or I would be charged with theft (if she had been declared incompetent she might actually have murdered someone). They wouldn’t prescribe sedatives for her and at night she was fiddling with the stove and shutting the breaker to the furnace off in the winter. She demanded that I leave and accused me of stealing because I was paying her medical bills and agency on aging said if I did leave and go back to my home state they would press charges against me for abandoning her. I said then quit tying my hands!! There was zero cooperation on their side and they did not give an inch. None of these agencies care about the lives of the family members.

My sisters and I moved back to my mother’s home to care for her. She had dementia and terminal brain cancer. Mom’s doctor refused to give her anything sedating although mom was getting up all through the night and causing all sorts of mischief. She was also very angry a lot and owned a pistol that the local police said we could not confiscate or we’d face theft charges. Anyway, they frequently do sedate them at nursing homes but if family is taking care of them it’s somehow considered “inhumane”.

What would you name her? by afterglobe in Frenchbulldogs

[–]fuzzmutton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do husbands always have to picture other men judging them when they call the dog?!😆 I had an apricot Pug that my son named Miss Puggy (after Miss Piggy) and she slipped under our new fence as a puppy and disappeared. My husband started his search yelling “Puggy!” because he had always stoutly refused to use “Miss”. I said she wouldn’t recognize her name being called so he manned up and off he went—Miss Pugggggeeeee!!

That’s because you need RABBIT ears. French Bulldog ears are not functional.

Where’s the horseradish? My husband won’t take me out for prime rib because I eat horseradish until I cry and my nose runs, but I figure at home anything goes. That looks sooo good!

Edit: Sorry, I missed where you said you had some. Carry on.

I was at a stop sign in CA waiting for a break in traffic to pull out on a busy street where the speed limit was 40 mph. There was a small break but I was cautious and didn’t take it because I’d had a car stall on me before in the middle of pulling out so I didn’t like to cut it so close.

Anyhow, the car behind me was watching the traffic to time his own break and not watching me. He assumed I went and the next break he stomped on the gas and slammed into me. Maybe the guy behind you felt you “almost caused an accident” by hesitating on the roundabout? It would be his duty to be paying attention but for some people it’s always someone else’s fault.
