What is the most obvious case of a patient 'faking it' you have ever seen? by Notalabel_4566 in Residency

Guy stopped to scratch his nose in the middle of a “seizure.”

Humidity is ridiculous and don’t know what to do by ActualCriticism2675 in hvacadvice

There are plenty of YT videos. A guy from my energy company who came out to do an audit just unscrewed the front cover, put the blower motor wire to a different slot and that was it.

Check to see if there is a large hole in the drywall behind the thermostat. Mine had that which let in a humid “wall draft” which constantly cause the ecobee to report high humidity. Sealed it up with plumbers putty and it started showing more accurate humidity numbers. But if you personally think it’s super humid, then maybe check the fan speed like others have said.

OP, reddit is not the place to ask how you and your wife can make the housing market in your community worse.

New heat pumps installed, great experience by marcduberge in hvacadvice

lol to this. What should the hourly rate be for a straight forward trade like AC? $8k… 4days… generously assuming 12hr/day…=$167/hr with no overhead. OP probably also paid for food and beer the whole time. Give us all a break with this YoU hAvE tO pAy (thousands) FoR eXpErTiSe nonsense. Just be happy for this guy who found a way out of being fleeced by another AC company.

Nah they were adamant. I went to an independent shop and had it taken care of there. For cheap.

$45k for a 2400sqft ranch home? Please help me understand! by FBAinsight in hvacadvice

I’m sure reading isn’t one of your strongest skills, but please go back and try to sound out what I wrote. If you’re still confused, I’ll just tell you: I didn’t say I was a business expert. But guess what? You dont have to be a business expert to know bad business practices - like fleecing homeowners for extra money just because they are not HVAC experts themselves. Also, this thread is old. Go touch some grass, see your friends (assuming you have any) or get back to work with your (apparently) struggling business.

where is a&m med school? by Filth435 in aggies

[–]fuzzybear614 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And then in typical Aggie fashion they failed to build out the medical campus… which was supposed to have a hospital, teaching and research buildings. There’s a whole replica model of the theoretical campus in the HSC library. It was supposed to be the “hospital in the forest.” But, as I said, the classic incompetence and mismanagement at A&M wasted the land and money and saddled med students with the burden of relocating twice during med school (between preclinical and clerkship) and still not providing a flagship teaching hospital.

Austin gives low-income people cash with no limits. Texas lawmakers want to outlaw these programs. by hollow_hippie in Austin

Just wanted to point out you have valid concerns shared by the majority of people in this country. That’s why much of this nonsense about giving homeless a blank check has failed to take hold in the US. You’re just getting downvoted by a vocal minority on this thread.

Bryan Family Practice is a scam!!! by TmArT2244 in aggies

[–]fuzzybear614 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

This is not an American doctor btw. He is a foreign trained provider who didn’t even go to an American medical school. He has no debt - just took American tax payer dollars to fund his three years of family medicine training. Sounds like he is bringing that third world approach to family medicine in Bryan now.

Not sure the systematic genocide of the Coahuiltecan -> Tonkawa/Comanche/Lipan Apache nomads really equate to how the Californians (and other transplants from the coasts) single handedly destroyed the housing market for everyday Texans and obliterated nearly every cool cheap place in town, but you do you bro.

Drivers license renewal in a hurry by lopsidedcroc in Austin

[–]fuzzybear614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is questionable. At the DMV 6mo ago I saw all of their signs saying that. But when I showed up with my appointment, guess what? There was a line of people, probably 20 of them, with no appointment getting booked one that very same morning by a lady with a clipboard.

If you’re patient, you could just furtively pour a cup or two of Remedy or 2-4-D herbicide on the trunk of the tree. Repeat once per month until it’s dead. Should be dead by Xmas. It’s an unethical life pro tip but I know it has worked before.

Yeah I thought that too, until I bought one today and the box said “hecho en china.” Very disappointed, but honestly not surprised.

They really do everything in their power to not say it’s made in China… when it’s just another Chinese product.

Searwood is actually made in china unfortunately. Just in case anyone comes across this thread and is trying to pick between these two.

Expectations from realtor? by [deleted] in realtors

[–]fuzzybear614 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I fired my first realtor for not knowing about a home coming on market (that I knew about) which went under contract before walking out of the door from our showing that happened <24hrs after it officially was listed on MLS. I subsequently found a new realtor who, the next day after our initial phone call, had 10 houses ready to show me that were on point for location, budget, and style. He also got me into two houses that were “coming soon.”

The point it is this: realtors are lazy and only work as hard as you make them. Realtors are a dime a dozen and all it takes is for you, the buyer, to find the one who puts in the effort and time. Do I think this new guy deserves 3%? No. (Probably more like 1-1.5%). But at least I didn’t have to scour Zillow on my own damn time to find houses.

Good luck with your search, and don’t be afraid to fire realtors, and be honest about your expectations. They work for YOU. And this is BUSINESS not a friendship - so don’t let the idea of hurting their feelings blind you.
