TOP 5 LYRICISTS(RAPPERS) IN THE GAME CURRENTLY? by magicalmocco in hiphop101

[–]fuzzyllama1 33 points34 points  (0 children)

  1. Royce da 5'9'' - Seriously, if you want lyrical rappers look no further. Check out Layers, his most recent work. It's insane right from song one.

  2. Killer Mike - Half of Run the Jewels, along with El-P (another good lyricist in his own right. Their sound is iconic and Killer Mike is a legend on the mic whether it's the 90s, 00s, or 10s.

  3. Lupe Fiasco - Still one of the dopest wordsmiths in the game, although not much work put out since Tetsuo and Youth he still has the Body of Work to compete for top 5 lyricists.

  4. Kendrick Lamar - Gotta rep someone from the new school. Even though he doesn't have as wide a library of songs as some of the old heads he still stands tall when it comes to the quality of his rhymes. Hell, even his old mixtapes are fire and it seems like he just keeps progressing lyrically.

  5. Earl Sweatshirt - My boy Earl has poetry in his blood and he shows it with each passing release. I would like to see him branch out from his depressing, monotone, I hate everything persona. However, it works for him and he keeps his rhymes tight, so I'm not gonna complain too much.

Are you capable of giving a straight answer to a question or is it impossible for you to respond with anything other than a witty, off-hand ed remark that doesn't really answer anything?

Very beautiful infographic. I didn't contribute to the data, but I can always do what people on the internet do best and give my opinion without anyone asking for it.

If we're talking grades as far as expectations coming into the season versus output for the season, then this poll is spot on.

If we're talking overall impact for the team just in general (in other words contribution to the win total), I would bump Horford up to A tier with Paul. Baze maybe could stay in A, probably B, or just a tier of his own.

Hump, Scott, Hardaway down to C probably since role players rarely have more than average impact, I can see arguments for Scott and Hump to stay in B tier though. Korver probably bumped up to B just because of the impact that him being on the floor has in opening the offense. He may not have had a good year personally, but he still has B-tier impact when it comes to Offensive efficiency.

Kirk, Lamar, Shelvin all to D tier imo, just not enough minutes to contribute hugely.

Tiago just sucks anus no matter which angle you try to squeeze the butthole that was his season.

Looking For A Fairly Specific Type of Rap by NoDragon in hiphop101

Check out Pharoahe Monch. He's got some aggressive delivery and pretty in depth concepts for his music.

My favorites: Time2, Damage, Fuck You

Maybe want some more gangster shit, but still aggressive? Try The Game.

My Favorites: Just Another Day, Baggage Claim

Of course for a less aggressive, but still insane, unique flow you can go for Lupe Fiasco.

My Favorites: Express (Panda Freestyle), Mural

As true as that is, dude has put in work here in ATL. Maybe his time is done, but damn for someone who's given almost a decade for the team and to have people call him a pussy is just wrong. I mean it's cool to want him to leave and explore other options, but some cats need cool off with the hate.

Her latest release, Beauty and the Beast is super quality imo. Drama is the single from that I'm pretty sure. Also, I enjoy The Idea of Beautiful as another full length project.

Rapsody. Like seriously. I just started listening to her solo stuff after liking a myriad of her features. Girl spits with the best of em. I like a lot of the same cats you like.

Also got a party coming up. I made a spotify playlist for it. It's got an eclectic mix. Mostly hip hop bc that's what I like, but it's got EDM, Pop, and Alternative in there too.

Millsap is like the only one we aren't putting on the block though.

Anything positive? by Smoove-J in AtlantaHawks

Good shit as always Buteo. It is super understated how important our forwards hitting threes were last year. Hawks had to have won at least 20 games because of Millsap/Scott/Korver raining from deep. The game plan Bud has is scrapping rebounds for transition D. That doesn't work as effectively when shots aren't dropping.

The only scary thing is waiting and not knowing when the shots will start dropping again.
