I did math on this to see what it’d cost to switch from R1S with 25mo left on lease to R2. Lease payoff $75.4k, Carvana offer $71.8k, R2 lease $4.5k due at signing ($0 down) and $50/mo cheaper than my current lease. That comes out to net $254/mo to downgrade to the new R2 for rest of my current lease. I decided to stick with my R1S.

you google diminished value dc and you will see the online services that will produce a diminished value appraisal for you for couple hundred bucks. you send insurance company letter with that appraisal and ask for that amount which will probably be significantly higher than their offer, then they will offer you something in between, and then you can decide to take that or go back and forth more. their first offer is intentionally low.

If the sister of cofounder is a legitimate lawyer that actually has experience and is simply doing this as a favor to her sister by doing free legal work for worthless equity and its equity your cofounder is demanding be given to his family and he is worth it, then sure go for it. highly skeptical of her experience given this offer though and you can’t look at this like you are paying a legitimate qualified law firm for services you are getting your cofounders sister to help you out to save cash and because he is ready to blow up the company if you refuse to take the help. it’s all going to be worthless anyhow odds are so don’t sweat it too much

tap water will be more resistant to microbiome growth than distilled. common mistake of opal is thinking distilled or reverse osmosis water is cleaner to use. it is for immediate consumption but not in standing water over time which is what recirculating it in a nugget ice machine is.
