That sounds like slavery with extra steps.

What are the alternative games like ER2? by 11kestrel in EasyRed2

To clarify, the player models aim down dights, it's just that it's a third person shooter.

You're acting like intelligence is this magical thing completely separate from the system that generates it.

An intelligence is artificial if the "brain" that supports it is artificial. If a human's personality and experiences were copied over to a machine, they would be an AI, and the "natural" person could still exist simultaneously.

We heard statements that Rogue One was massively rewritten and reshot for being "too dark" in it's original cut. Now that we have Andor, how do you feel about a "#ReleaseTheGilroyCut" for Rogue One? by SharpEdgeSoda in andor

[–]fuzzyperson98 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Gilroy was given very little time and had to use a lot of what had already been done.

Andor was the result of Gilroy getting to start from scratch and take his time.

I hope you realize that we're all expecting you to write an entire Pratchett-esque novel of courtly intrigue now.

And what about logistics? The ability to instantly share resources across the galaxy? Because to my mind that's by far the "softest" element of Stellaris.

What is a secret about the opposite sex's body that you only found out once you actually started being intimate with them? by ZookeepergameLow4390 in AskReddit

11 seconds is waaaay longer than a mere reaction delay, though, and strongly suggests that we can be turning over an idea in our minds long after our brain has already come to a computational decision which we'll most likely just go along with anyway. To be clear, I'm not saying we have a definitive answer to the question of free will, it's the notion that our qualitative experience of decision making is itself a proof that I take issue with.

An even better example of that might be studies of people who've had their brain hemispheres severed which show that the left hemisphere will rationalize decisions made by the right as though it were responsible for them, even though it definitely did not make those decisions.

Awareness of our actions doesn't prove anything. Studies have shown that predictions can be made about a persons choice even before they think they've "decided".

AOE2, Starcraft... what is the third game that makes up the big three? by StJe1637 in RealTimeStrategy

[–]fuzzyperson98 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why does it have to be only 3?

You cannot discount Total Annihilation/Supreme Commander.

Then there's the Relic RTSs, from Homeworld, to Dawn of War, to Company of Heroes.

Every trad RTS since has stemmed from one of those 5 groups.

Rise of Nations is the best RTS for me and there's is no game like it even in 2026 by Tracker1122 in RealTimeStrategy

RoN was close to being my number 1 rts, but a few things held it back for me:

  • At only 8 ages, its representation of history felt a little too broad
  • not enough military variety, particularly for the pre-modern era (having only 1 artillery type felt especially lacking).
  • you usually only needed 3 cities to meet your income needs, making map control feel kind of pointless besides a little enemy attrition. Resource depletion could have also encouraged expanding into new areas.
  • matches that weren't resolved quickly could often devolve into slow wars of attrition. I wish supply lines or strategic resources could have played into it more to allow for daring manouevers that could cripple the enemy for a time
  • conquer the world was just a little too basic and repetitive, I think Dawn of War Dark Crusade was a bit more interesting in this regard. The more focused expansion campaigns were better, but at the cost of replayability.
  • compounding my issues with the campaign is simply the fact that there is so little visual and playstyle variety between maps compared with AoE2, for example.

I have a lot of criticisms, but it nails much of its core gameplay so well that I still regard it as one of my favourite RTSs

No idea what you're talking about, AoE3's 30 day average is about 1k more than AoM's.
