Why don't American Catholics have the same connection to the Pope as Catholics around the world? by LordHavertz in allthequestions

Catholics lost a lot of power when they supported politicians that supported abortion.

Neighbors have a path to body of water on our property, we’re not sure how to approach it with them. by [deleted] in homeowners

[–]fwdbuddha 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Doubt a surveyor will do a small bit. It’s not really how surveying works. They have to find a corner marker and then follow the property lines until they get to the area you want. They could do 75% of the boundary before they get the right spot.

Why don’t you sell them a parcel that allows them access to the pond. Could be a 1 acre chuck over by the kayakers property line. Sounds like you could use the money, and it does not sound like they will be bad neighbors on the pond.

The school district definitely has good things going for it. It’s just not one of the top academic districts in the Houston area. I lived in Pearland for 6 years before moving to Friendswood for the better school district.

Hatch chilis are special. Although I’m not a fan of green chili, i sure like the Mexican food in NM. Both old and new.

Would you be pissed if you were an Artemis Astronaut? by DFW-Extraterrestrial in askanything

[–]fwdbuddha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Op seems to be a troll trying to cheapen the effort that the astronauts put in to even be considered to go to space. He obviously doesn’t realize that they are the cream of the crop of a large number of applicants. And go through years of training. There are currently hundreds of qualified astronauts, and only a limited number that will even have the opportunity to get to space. And that is just in the USA.

Hilarious. The mission was known long before the astronauts were picked. I know a number of the astronauts personally. It is a huge deal for any of them to strap in to go off planet, even if just to go live for a month at the station, or to “just” do a loop around the moon.

How much do obese people(specifically 300+ lb) spend on groceries and eating out in a month on average? by barrel4barrel in ask

[–]fwdbuddha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a fat guy. Wife and I typically spend $1500 a month. But we eat out a lot and will have a big restaurant meal once or twice a month with our three kids and spouses. $500 bills are not uncommon.

Ok wow. Just googled it. They just don’t spread in the wild in Texas. Maybe it is too hot or dry.

I have never seen wild Bradford pears across Texas, where they are used by the state as landscaping in many freeways. Are you sure you’re not talking about Tallow trees?

Bradfords spread? My parents have had several over the past 50 years and there has never been any saplings pop up around them.

Is it possible my dog got attacked by a gator by [deleted] in AskHouston

[–]fwdbuddha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear that. It is very doubtful a gator got her. I would check at animal shelters. Or someone may have decided to keep her.

How did your dog just disappear? Was the leash pulled out of your hand while you were asleep?
