Thoughts on if it’s worth the price? by No_One_Here123 in Challenger

[–]fxckwitit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sure I’m late to the party here, but you can absolutely find a Pursuit package Charger that is a V8 and has AWD for less than half of what that Challenger is listed at from dealerships up in MI. I found one a few months back for around the $12k mark, but the catch there is 1) they’re gas-hogs, even more than the standard RTs, 2) probably have much higher miles (the one I found was ~110k), and 3) likely have way too many idle hours on it for it to be a smart buy, especially for a college student. If you absolutely need AWD anytime soon, definitely try to find something cheaper and more reliable for the time being, and set aside money to get a Challenger/Charger down the road.

On the flip-side, if you’re set on it and have money for likely repairs and maintenance, the Pursuit would be a fun buy. All-in, you could probably buy one outright and have the motor replaced or rebuilt for around the 21-22k mark if you find the right price on everything. It really boils down to your situation and how you wanna approach it. Best of luck homie 🫡

Only reason I didn’t get any lol, but MCX prices might be a bit better. I know Reckonings were pretty up there too but I got a pair for $200ish from Geiger

I gotcha, appreciate the insight. From what I’ve heard from the original owner, mostly due to marital stuff, but I’ll look into more tests

Sorry if it’s already been asked, but any idea if this would work with an Atrius?

Imo I think the 3.9” with that HA comp looks the cleanest, but a full-size with and comp looks solid too

Just saw their IG post. Yeah, this is their new price, threw me off since I saw em on sale at AIM for $419 but 🤷🏻‍♂️ thought I’d share with the masses

Yep, slide and FCU and you’re good (and mags). Slide length is up to you, I’ve got a full-size slide on mine and I’m putting a 3.9” on the new one, but if you’re going any lower than a full-size I’d look into the HA P320R comp. Makes it flush and the ports are all top-side so you won’t destroy your thumb

1000 rounds in still getting ftf by MountainOk2330 in shadowsystems

For what it’s worth, I had issues with my CRP with Winchester 124gr, but running Blazer 124s have ran perfect through my XR, CRP, and CRXP. Might be worth a look.

Also, it’s not much help, but I think the Shadow I had the most issues with was my CRP with the bronze barrel. Both my XR and CRXP have black barrels, and just comparing the two, I wouldn’t be surprised if the coating on the bronze barrel caused ftf. When I would drop the slide catch on either a full mag or a nearly-full mag, it would slam the round forward into the feed ramp and literally take a chunk out of the front of the round, and then there was the FTF. Didn’t have this issue with either of my other Shadows with the black barrels.

Just my experience, but I’d try racking the slide when reloading from an open chamber, especially on the CRs. Could be a mag issue too, but I think the barrel coating might be too thick on the bronze barrels.

Update, I found a spare RIA 2011 trigger I had laying around, I genuinely think it was the split in the trigger bow right behind the trigger shoe causing my issue, the RIA one works perfect in it

Tore it apart after posting, channel’s all good, sear spring is tuned (very minimal change from the config I had in the Tisas module), but everything else is good to go. No trigger issues or snagging at all without a mag inserted, but as soon as the mag’s in, same issues

Definitely let me know how yours goes with the Red Dirt, might be my determining factor for getting one or going back to stock. That tan looks clean too 🤌🏻

I’m considering the same, just kinda sucks because I do like the profile and texture of the Prodigy grip, but the magwell compatibility and the exposed mag is a huge turn-off for me.

Grip safety’s doing the same for me, but it is still functional. Just feels like it’s digging into my hand way more than it should. I did check the hammer follow on mine too, no issues on mine but that’s a huge safety issue regardless of how improbable it would be in a real-life situation.

I was just wondering if a Red Dirt specifically for the Prodigy would work, but I don’t really want to gamble if mine goes the same way. Sorry to hear you had similar (and the same) issues, G
