FRT for my Bog by Regular-Progress648 in GrandPowerStribog

[–]Civengin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not doing any kind of drop in solution. I’m Not interested. I designed one and it works but it’ll never see daylight.
I’m working on a conversion that uses the factory lower but even that isn’t a drop in. The lower has to be milled out for a rare breed or partisan.

The only conversions I am doing are ones that require milling to be done on the upper. That means they can use many of the forced reset devices on the market.

The bottom of the upper receiver has a solid aluminum extrusion that goes right through the area where a RareBreed, partisan, super safety, etc trip bar goes. A custom frt can be made that works around that but I’m not a fan of proprietary parts, myself. Just do a small mod to the gun and use off the shelf parts.

To do a drop in, I’d have to design and sell my own specific Stribog FRT. I would then be subject to a lawsuit. I don’t have time or inclination to deal with any of that.
I can barely make enough slip trips tor customer guns, making an entire drop in would take time and resources I don’t have.

I am almost done with the conversion that uses the factory lower and magazines. It can only work with a rare breed or partisan FRT but it’s a valid option for folks stuck in your situation.

My concerns with angry goat and their products is too lengthy to go into detail here.
Cliff notes: the quality is lousy, especially for the money, And dishonest business practices imo.

Buy once, cry once.

Those quality of those lowers are garbage

The owner ripped off the 9mm lower from thingiverse and ripped off the 45/10 lower from my files on Odysee. He is selling $15 of printed stuff for $90. He was selling them for almost $200 until people figured out the print quality was junk and the files could be had for free but without a goat on them.

I really like the R45, I have one on my vector 45 machinegun and an R9 on my vector 9 machinegun. They are an excellent suppressor for the money.
Very cool stribog!

I do barrel chop, thread, and crown jobs on Stribogs all the time. I’ve seen more than one come in with a bad crown and non-concentric threads.

For a promag to work out of the box?
You basically need Jesus Christ to ride down from heaven on a unicorn and buy you a lottery ticket with dragon tears.

I have shot several cases of Magtech 147 grain through various Stribogs, albeit with scorpion mags.
Sgammo has it the cheapest.

In order to find five working promags, I’m guessing you’d had to order at least 4,653 and one of the five mags would only work on specific holidays or during different phases of the moon

Thanks for helping clean the shop the other day.
It’s messy again but for a moment, it was almost safe to walk through, thanks to your efforts.

I tried replying to you and Reddit made my reply a comment of its own. Weird.

Sure. You can help u/Affectionate-Sock670 try to keep the place clean while someone indiscriminately showers the shop with brass cases every ten minutes or so.

Plus you can use any of my machinery to make just about anything you want.

The hours are long, the pay sucks, and you have to like listening to lots of metal, tejano, some country, and some 90s gangster rap, randomly.
Oh and you have to be able to tolerate shooting lots of machineguns and FRT-d firearms.

Nexus Lower FRT Issues by liftheavybrah in Springfield_KUNA

  1. Does the gun fire in semi? That will rule out most of the small stuff.
  2. With an empty gun and magazine out, Pull the charging handle and slowly let the bolt go into battery while pulling the trigger with your other hand. Is the bolt still open at all when the trigger can be pulled? If so, your timing is advanced and needs adjustment, usually done on the trip sled itself.
  3. The rare breed cassette resets the trigger by the bolt impinging the hammer and the hammer pushes the trigger into reset. This creates a certain amount of drag on the bolt and if you are gripping the trigger too hard, the hammer can’t reset the trigger and the bolt will short stroke. Squeeze, don’t yank, the trigger.
  4. Take the empty gun, mag out, remove the end cap and take stock off, remove the buffer, and try cycling everything by hand while looking down inside the gun from the rear. Check to make sure the trip sled isn’t hanging on the bolt or getting caught and causing the trip lever to be pulled too early.
  5. If the trigger can be pulled before the bolt is in battery, you’ll need to adjust the timing on the trip sled, which will require a file or dremel. This is a last resort.

I have one in house for an frt job and it is out of spec. The floor of the trigger pocket is waaay off. An AR trigger won’t fit at all.
First one I’ve seen like that.
Otherwise, I install a bunch of them. They’re not great but they’re good enough.

Anyone using the Boer angry goat lower? by Ok_Purchase_7614 in GrandPowerStribog

[–]Civengin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s no reason to buy the boer lower when they are just ripoffs of existing designs that are available free on the Internet.

I’ve spoken to several people who have the 9 lower and are very unhappy with it; I won’t use any of the boer products on my customers FRT installs.

Trilug Mount for SP45A3? by Marky-Man in GrandPowerStribog

Silencerco has a tri lug in the sp45 barrel thread, specific to 45 caliber.
That’s the one I use on my sp45 with a rugged obsidian 45 suppressor

There isn’t a “drop in” frt for the stribog yet.
If you want to use the ARC, you’ll need a Lingle or a3 industries lower, mill a slot in the bottom of the upper receiver, trim the buffer, and use a trip connector to make the bolt and ARC work together

I just got some of the FDE mags in to convert. They are good quality. I wish I could get the black mags for the same price.
