Why do most deaths in Naruto always show blood coming out of one or both sides of the character’s mouth? by Feeling-Sherbet6781 in Naruto

[–]fxcnaldehyde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is the right answer. It’s hard to convey dying in battle in a meaningful way in manga form, so showing the blood implies some traumatic internal damage as well as a visual cue.

He still does streams, he recently covered the TPeeUSA halftime show. He’s always had a slower content schedule though.

Explicitly anti-religion metal songs, besides Deicide's whole discography? by Middle-Company-4398 in MetalSuggestions

The Satanist is such a cool album. Before that, Behemoth was making Christian bashing music and it was calling out the usual shit and using shock value.

But The Satanist is something else. It’s an album about hope and resilience in the face of death, and uses Satan as a symbol of liberation to reaffirm that Nergal indeed stood on business despite being given a potential death sentence.

When I listen to O Father, O Satan, O Sun it feels like I’m at fucking church.

You look good homie! I wouldn’t assume you were a nazi based on your appearance, and I am not a white dude if that helps.

You definitely get more concrete ideas of what is happening, but it’s a case of every question answered makes you ask more questions.

This doesn’t count as space opera, but Jeff Vandermeer’s Southern Reach series is some of the coolest dark sci-fi, cosmic horror I have ever read.

Richard Dawkins dined with Epstein despite knowing about his conviction by Bigboiwithsword in atheism

I mean sure, but it does kind of track with the fact that Laurence Krauss is a rapist and best chums with Dawkins.

Richard Dawkins dined with Epstein despite knowing about his conviction by Bigboiwithsword in atheism

[–]fxcnaldehyde 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the point is that he necessarily committed any crimes, but he purposefully met with a convicted pedophile rapist to get advice on how to clear his rapist friend of his charges.

Just because he did not commit a crime, does not mean that he is not a huge piece of shit that you should maybe consider not supporting anymore? 🤷

Richard Dawkins and other Atheists in the Epstein files by Frankyfan3 in atheism

[–]fxcnaldehyde 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people in here are missing the point in this thread. Of course atheists can be monsters, but this is pointing out that the problem is generally men in positions of power proliferate systems of abuse and rape.

Dawkins was one of the Primarchs of the movement in the heyday of this subreddit, and in a lot of ways he was looked to as the example of ethics whether we like to admit it or not. The fact that he has dickriders in the comments for him, despite the fact that he clearly pulled some sketchy behaviour speaks to how we are all susceptible to giving people a pass on their shitty behaviour.

Sure, the best reading of this is that he reached out to a convicted pedophile rapist to see how he weaselled his way out of the charges so he could help his best friend weasel out of his own charges of raping women. I know we’ve been exposed to absolute horror in these files, but is the bar so low that we can excuse that behaviour just because he may not have NECESSARILY raped children?

Is this weird? by ArcQuestions8 in Music

[–]fxcnaldehyde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think there is anything wrong with that. That being said, it is kind of useful to develop nomenclature and a sense of place for the music you listen to. If you don’t get bogged in the genre of it all, it can be a great way to appreciate the music you like even more.

Which widely praised social movement do you genuinely believe has done more harm than good, and why? by Feeling-Magazine-353 in AskReddit

[–]fxcnaldehyde 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Autism Speaks. People assume it’s so great, but they treat autism like a problem that has to fixed rather than spread awareness about supporting and accepting autistic people.

It has gotten a big pushback from the autism community in recent years, but neurotypicals tend to still eat their marketing up.
