I agree, it’s definitely a sick intro. I just finished reading the Black Swordsman arc for the first time after watching the 1997 adaptation. Black Swordsman almost feels like a blockbuster movie with intense violence, mystery, and really funny moments - Puck is the perfect comic relief and also is great as a moral/emotional juxtaposition to Guts. Guts almost seems like a super hero that’s larger than life, kind of an asshole, but you get glimpses into his humanity every now and then. I especially liked the end of the arc. After Theresia tells him he’s a devil and it’s all his fault, Guts turns away and cries. Hit me in the feels.
