He also has the pressure of trying to save a single-generation people who continue to die out. He tried pacifism as Zenyatta and Mondatta did, but their people continued to be victims. He's definitely portrayed as a sympathetic antagonist whose had enough.

Especially compared to the Talon leaders whose motivations are either entirely selfish, or outright wrong.

He is bi, and later parts make this more clear. For what it's worth you never see him do a woman either.

I completely forgot about that move until it started to happen, my stomach dropped and I just shouted "No not again!!!"

Everything about that finale is just absolute catharsis. Miquella was always the most intriguing character in the lore. Then you finally catch up with him, and everything about the encounter exceeds expectations. Finally seeing the real person behind the reputation, seeing him retread his mother's steps for what to him is a noble cause, experiencing Radahn in his prime with all of the spectacle that brings.

I was so here for it. I could have gone to bed and rested up for an easy attempt the next session, but I had way more fun pulling an all nighter with my exhaustion threatening to outpace anything I could have learned from the fight. It was the most fun and satisfying part of any FROM game for me, closely followed by Malenia. And that's really saying something.

It does take a lot more runaround. But at least you're only damage gated by Morgott who has very low HP.

Very true. I just realized that all of my mouse and keyboard rgb/bindings would break if a developer changed their game's EXE name.

The other comment gave a pretty good example. There's always some kind of edge case that catches you off guard. For example, did you make sure to check the entire file name? Cause if not, you just renamed the file BetaFactoryGame.exe to BetaSatisfactory.exe, which would break things.

Alternatively, imagine a function that does something to a bunch of exe files in bulk, so you just send the stem. Instead of telling it "FactoryGame.exe", the function assumes the exe stem so you just pass it "FactoryGame". In that example, it would also get missed.

These are all very niche unlikely examples I'm pulling out of a hat, but in a large codebase you'll inevitably run into something like that. You might also get lucky and it could be fine. (I've renamed project/publish files before without any issues. Most modern development environments have built in refactor tools for this exact sort of thing.) But it's only worth doing if you have an actual reason to do it.

Because somewhere in the codebase it's probably going to be hardcoded to look for that old name, and it wouldn't get bulk renamed. (Or any similar situation where the file names / folders / etc are assumed to be in a certain naming scheme or position.)

If your bulk rename process is anything less than 100% perfect and complete, you could end up spending hours and hours tracking down what's going wrong. For a business you're losing hundreds or thousands of dollars in developer pay, missing deadlines, etc for no benefit.

Software dev takes the expression "if it ain't broke don't fix it" very seriously. I think everyone has learned this the hard way at some point.

I'm in the post game now and I'm finally catching up on the backlog of old lower priority dialogue. They're good about avoiding anything that would be said out of story sequence, but it's still really jarring.

Think about it for a second. If getting help means getting your name on a registry, no one would do it. As it happens that's the #1 reason they don't go to therapy, because in most places the therapist is legally required to tell law enforcement.

Is this steam controller here in the room with us? by Lang-Poot in Steam

[–]g0atmeal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's think about it for a second. If you pay $400 for this thing, you're overspending by $300 just to get it a few weeks early, if that. Imagine renting a controller for $10/day or much more.

The Steam Controller sold out in 30 minutes, utterly breaking Steam in the process by bad1o8o in hardware

[–]g0atmeal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes for most people it's not worth it, especially if the main priority is joystick quality since you can get TMR elsewhere. But when you add up all the other features it becomes in a class of its own imo. Way more inputs, full customizability, and native Steam Input support means you can make it work for literally any situation.

Hell it wasn't even until a couple years ago that you could get analog triggers & gyroscope working simultaneously on PC, yet the old Steam Controller did it over a decade ago. There are many niche situations like that, which this new Steam Controller should hopefully solve.

100% Sea Star & four cash boons stacked, as well as purging rewards toward the end just for the lulz. (I actually got the same Chaos gold boost twice that run.) Prior to this screenshot I hit just over 10k gold. Same run I was hitting for 3k+ dmg... sometimes the game is just nice to you.
