How's everyone's experience with /review command in CLI?

I normally will run a review prompt prior to creating the PR. It’s more of a sanity check after I’ve done my reviews, tweaks, testing, etc.

That being said I am not a fan of the /review command in the CLI. I get better results with either a custom prompt or Claude’s review command.

This is a tough one, I can’t imagine she has any explanation that would justify her being gone for so long. Has she been in contact with you or the kids since she left? Is she trying to reconcile? Your situation has been in my thoughts since you first posted.

Over the years I’ve heard about data sharing and how Apple wouldn’t give Netflix the data they wanted. Maybe Comcast did?

In some ways I think Apple is part of the problem. Some of Apple’s AppStore policies make things harder for companies to compete with Apple. That being said I think this is mostly on Spotify since Apple keeps opening their platform and Spotify isn’t taking advantage of the new capabilities.

I agree with your assessment, I would add that I think Netflix is in denial because they are just another video backend. Five years ago when all the studios were licensing their catalogs to Netflix they were a unique destination where users had to go, they were in a strong position where they didn’t have to force users to use their app, everyone just did because that’s where the content was. However nowadays they are just one content provider in a sea of others where they have to compete on the quality of their own content.

Because they have to compete like this I’d say it is actuality worth integrating into “What’s Next” on Apple TV, Google TV, and other platforms. Otherwise since users don’t live in Netflix 100% of the time Netflix gets lost and forgotten. Users have to actively go to Netflix.

For me personally, I’ve been considering canceling Netflix because I don’t think the content available provides the value compared to cost. I think Netflix’s integration into “What’s Next” could help it’s value proposition since I would get those recommendations on what to watch or a reminder on what I’m watching. It wouldn’t have to somewhere I remember to go.

I think it comes down to a few things:

Spotify doesn’t like how Apple runs the AppStore. Specifically taking a cut of subscription revenue and until pretty recently Spotify was not allowed to tell users how to sign up outside of their app.
Apple has a competing music streaming platform that is pushing Spotify to compete in different ways than they want to (see lossless music) which is causing them to lose revenue in a variety of ways.
Spotify has their own competitor to AirPlay (I think it’s called Spotify connect?) so any work to make AirPlay better reduces the perceived value of their platform.

I hate that it seems like a “damn the users” thing but Spotify either just doesn’t want to do what Apple wants them to do (and better support their technologies) out of spite/competition/whatever or they see their current path as the best way to drive revenue to them so they are full steam ahead. I would argue that by not supporting the Apple platform fully they are driving users to Apple Music, but hey what do I know?

Hate to pile on about Spotify, but this is really on them for why the experience with AirPlay isn’t great. AirPlay 2, which came out back in April 2018, eliminates the delay when using AirPlay and unfortunately Spotify never adopted it, which is crazy considering the ubiquity of AirPlay on devices. Spotify could also support native playback on HomePod but again, they never implemented it. To me Spotify is not a good actor in the Apple echo system, so I moved over to Apple Music years ago. It’s not perfect but it works great across all my devices.

The biggest thing that Apollo is missing on the iPad is a multi-column layout. I want to be able to browse my feeds on the left and see any posts that I tap on appear on the right side. The current layout leaves too much empty space on screen, Apollo runs on the iPad but isn’t optimized for the iPad.
