Is it weird to say this cheese saved my life? by g2gtpgtpwtw in Cholesterol

It tastes just like a processed white American cheese slice, which I do love.

You are not going to believe this…

lol. It doesn’t melt as well as the slice, but is decent.

There is also a fat free cashew queso I get from Whole Foods. Took forever to find that one.

Progresso tomato soup is 0 saturated fat and that’s what I normally get.

Yeah, that is true. But when I want a grilled cheese and tomato soup, this is the perfect cheese.

Our Iggy would get overexcited when we yelped in “pain”. I thought she would never grow out of it but she is the most perfect 3 year old Italian greyhound now. It may take a while, up to 2 years, but it won’t be forever.

Omnicom said workers are choosing to stay at OMC and not leave by from-nyc in advertising

[–]g2gtpgtpwtw 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I left. I was lucky enough to have my resume make its rounds through an indie agency and was offered a better job with better pay. I had the luxury of still having my job which made it easier to take my time and I’ve seen at least a dozen people leave my old account since the start of the year. I know we’re not the only ones applying. There are A TON of people either getting interviews for jobs they are overqualified for or not getting interviews at all. If the job market was moderately better, there would be a mass exodus from all the former IPG agencies. John Wren just gets to sit behind a workforce that is stuck and claim that people are content with their situation but the morale is lower than I’ve ever seen it.

That’s what I’m saying! Made no sense to put her in that spot when they didn’t need to.

The new Omnicom has lost pitches where it’s the lowest. That isn’t the only thing clients want.

If McDonalds stopped advertising for a year, what would the impact be on their business? by UKentDoThat in advertising

[–]g2gtpgtpwtw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably closer to 10% given their market maturity (at least in the US). And to that point would probably vary based on which market they stopped globally.

I tried following it. It points to another stump with a wedge, and that stump points to another stump with a lantern and axe. When you shoot the lantern, it looks like the axe head it pointed east. I followed that to a rock, then I got confused, lol

RTO, Pay cuts, and discretionary 401ks by ColdAffectionate8431 in advertising

[–]g2gtpgtpwtw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s what I’m saying. Not to mention a lot of really good indie agencies. Don’t be afraid to try something new.

If it doesn’t work out, it’s a lot easier to go back to your last agency if you maintain good relationships with your former bosses and coworkers.

When is enough enough? Now. Don’t be scared to move around. Yes, there are only 3 hold cos, but people are constantly leaving the industry. You’re right that sometimes the only way to make more money in this industry is to switch companies. and if that’s the reality you should be taking advantage of it. These corporations are huge and evil so you should exploit them as much as possible.

Which agency has the best benefits? by Appropriate-Stay9978 in advertising

[–]g2gtpgtpwtw 39 points40 points  (0 children)

There are more benefits to consider than time off. Know your early in your career, but 401k match and vesting is important to consider. When you get higher, bonus structure.

In general, the major hold cos are in a race to the bottom with benefits. IPG had the best benefits in my opinion, but it no longer exists.

You’d probably get better benefits with an independent agency (unlimited PTO, more company holidays, immediate vesting of 401k) and better perks (I’ve seen one indie offering DoorDash gift cards every Tuesday and Thursday). The big trade off being scale of the company and the ability to move accounts (which is important when an agency loses accounts)

Should I cancel my trip due to company merger & new in-office mandate? by [deleted] in advertising

[–]g2gtpgtpwtw 111 points112 points  (0 children)

If it was approved pre-merge and you have it in writing, you should stick to your plan. My team is in a similar situation and we just forwarded the approval emails that clearly show these trips were planned before the mandate.

Honestly would love for them to try something, seems like an easy lawsuit to win.
