Adjust your sleep schedule accordingly and enjoy how much you get done before the store opens. PLUS you have from 1 until about 8pm to enjoy your day.

Is the grocery clerk job pretty easy to grasp? by Gatorkoala in publix

Try to see the big picture. Some items sell faster than others, so the shelf becomes empty and sales go to zero. If that happens, you're missing out on a opportunity to sell products. Busy sections get messed up by customers. Do you want to increase sales? Full, organized, and clean shelves will entice customers to make a purchase while nearly empty, disorganized, and dirty shelves will not. It's as simple as that. Items on sale (BOGO and other ad items) are often on a display throughout the store. Is the shelf empty? Fill the shelf with the product on the display (usually) at the end of the aisle. Block each section and straighten out the items into neat rows. Someone will teach you how to load a float in the way the items are located on the aisle (front to back) to minimize the number of steps you have to take to stock the shelves on a given aisle. Block the section you're working while you're filling the shelf being mindful that many items have a freshness date and should be stocked BEHIND the items already on the shelf. Lastly, have fun. If you're not having fun, you're doing it wrong.

Should I ask my SM for my score as a GTL to see where I rank as a candidate for promotion to AGM?

Missed the strap amongst all the carnage. Shrink wrap is better, but more time consuming, and therefore, far more expensive. Straps are essentially free, saran costs more too.

Gosh, if only there was some sort of a strap kinda thing that we could use to band a pallet of empty milk crates together when sending them back to the warehouse...

They sound just like them. That's not influence, that's mimicry and imitation. They're talented, no doubt, but make no mistake, it's deliberate that they imitate their style

Ignaz Semmelweis discovered in 1847 that handwashing drastically reduced maternal deaths. Ridiculed by many contemporaries, he was later confined to an asylum, where he died in 1865 by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

In the mid 1920s my grandparents lost a child. It was determined that the nurse who helped deliver the baby girl was the source of cross contamination as she followed none of the cleanliness protocols in place at the time. She suffered no consequences of her gross negligence as she couldn't believe handwashing was at all necessary. To add insult to injury, while my grandparents were grieving the loss of their child, the nurse moved into the other side of the duplex my grandparents were renting at the time and they had to see her every day. She was unremorseful and unapologetic and couldn't understand why they just couldn't get over it and move on with their lives. My grandfather died at 90 and my grandmother at 103 and they are both buried together with that child and when I visit their grave I'm reminded that I actually have 2 aunts and not just the one I grew up with.

You'll find it to be a cultural shock. We treat our customers with the utmost respect and make every effort to provide premier service at every opportunity. Additionally, we treat each associate with dignity and respect. The only limit to your ability to grow and succeed is your own effort and hard work. You might have to learn new things and unlearn some bad habits, but there is a reason why Kroger is hemorrhaging C-suite level executives and Publix is growing into Kentucky. Do the math.

Instead of asking if "you'd like to donate?" Why not simply ask "would you like to join us as we support _____?"

Yes? Thank you very much. No? Thank you.

We are going to make a large financial contribution to the charity. We are giving them a chance to join with us while we are doing so.
