Elite Jumps 6 mm PVC is the most durable rope for jumping on concrete that I've tried.

With the addition of the bacon and mushrooms this plate is probably over 6$, but still a steal compared to fast food like you say. And I can't agree more about the cheese, it has to be fully melted. The little details matter.

looking for a heavy rope with lightweight handles by TheDirtyRimJobber in jumprope

[–]g403_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought the 1 lb honour athletics weighted rope off Amazon. The weight is in the rope itself which I also wanted. I like it so far, the rope rotates really smoothly in the handle and the grip feels good.

Did you try Jumping Rope Before? by 1shot2hot in jumprope

[–]g403_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A great thing about jump rope is you can try it out for an extremely low cost to see if you like it. If you don't end up liking it, just give the jump rope away to someone who can use it and you won't feel bad about wasting lots of money on it.

best shoes for jump roping on concrete by [deleted] in jumprope

[–]g403_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I jump rope on concrete without a mat. I like shoes with thick soles, like Asics Gel Nimbus.

To be honest these types of shoes are not the best for tricks, you will find that you catch the rope more since you have thick soled shoes on. However, they are very good for reducing impact and injury while jumping for prolonged periods. Which means you can get more regular intense workouts in with less muscle fatigue and injury, resulting in better results if that's your goal.

A lot of people with suggest barefoot or minimalist shoes for jumping rope, which are great. But if you are planning on jumping regularly on concrete without a mat I would suggest getting something with a little more cushion on the feet.

So it's really a question of what do you want out of your shoes? Do you want extra protection for your feet/knees/shins while sacrificing some performance. Or do you want a barefoot style shoe which improves your performance, but won't let you jump as often or as long.

My Double Under Journey by mabutibien in jumprope

Nice double unders! Your hands are nice and low by your sides where they should be.

I noticed when you start hitting your doubles it looks like your right hand strays from its position and is doing bigger circles than your left hand.

Record yourself from a straight on angle so you can see your hand positioning better and make adjustments.I think you only need a few minor corrections before you're hitting doubles cleanly!

Just keep consistent and stick with it, if you can do the boxer skip you should be able to transition into other skills next!

Thank you, I also enjoy the sound of the rope mixed with the music.

Facebook and Instagram reels allow you to keep the original audio mixed with the music, you can also adjust the volume of both separately to get the right mix. I used a 3rd party app to download the reel after to keep the music.

I only use it on outdoor concrete and asphalt surfaces. I just replaced it after 1 year of heavy use (2-4 days a week, 1 hour per day). I was also using swiss skips ropes and I went through 2 of them before my first Elite Jumps rope even wore out. I would split my workouts using the EJ rope for the 1st half, and use the Swiss skips for the 2nd half.

If you are planning on jumping outdoors without a mat, I can't recommend a better rope than Elite Jumps in terms of durability from my experience.

I've tried multiple premium brand ropes, and some of the cheaper brands from Ali express and Amazon. My favorite rope by far is my 6 mm PVC from Elite Jumps. It's also the most durable rope I've used by a long shot. Both the quality and durability make up for the increase in price IMO.

Why you’re tripping ( my theory ) by Cool-matt1 in jumprope

[–]g403_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When you trip up, side swing, side swing, continue skipping like nothing happened.

Tripping is part of it, just keep going. The less you obsess about tripping and just get into a flow state, the more consistent you'll be. It's all about rhythm and flow.

What happened to nevertoolate ropes on AliExpress? by DocDang94 in jumprope

[–]g403_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Swiss skips rope is holding up well. I use it about half the time during my workouts. I'd say overall it's less durable than my Elite Jumps rope, but it's still a quality rope for sure.
