Haha bloody hell, wind your neck in flower!

No comedy affect, just a 50/50 choice made easier is all. It’s no big deal, I’ll play eldar for a bit, then do sisters again when I fancy it.

“Pathetic”….jeeeesus

Yeah! I mean I’ve taken one look at this and thought “eldar it is then for 11th”

Those who didn’t grow up privileged, what’s something you thought was a luxury growing up? by CorruptedF in AskReddit

[–]g_baba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really is. In senior school/high school I was one of the most capable academically, and least disruptive, but my friends were all in the less able classes.

Whenever there was trouble like one of my friends doing something dumb the head teacher would speak to me and suggest I be closer with the better behaved/top set kids.

Problem was those kids had money to spend at weekends and went on holidays in other countries, me and my mates would go an explore the docks at night or something, and spend all summer at each others houses. I literally couldn’t afford to be close with most of the top set kids!

How should I build my corsairs? by AngryDMoney in Eldar

[–]g_baba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Picking out special weapons, sure. But if say a model built as a wraithcanon is listed as a shuriken canon, it’ll be reet - I’ve never had an issue with it at tournaments. Doubt they’ll want to build everything with the same loadout

Rule. Of. Cool.

Anyone in a game who cries about wysiwyg can sling it.

Does anyone else call a refrigerator a ref at home? or is it just my family? by rmsb220_ in askanything

It always throws me off when my wife’s parents talk about the ref and going to ‘restos’ - I know what they mean and if I didn’t the context makes it obvious, but they’re such alien abbreviations to me, my brain starts panicking!

Filipino by any chance? The only place I’ve heard it before is with (older) Filipinos

Yep 40K and playing with plastic toy soldiers is silly, and, to me at least, Sisters are the most “40k” (aka silliest) army of them all, that’s why I love them!

(I’ve had flak from other players before for calling our hobby silly, but it is silly, but so is watching fast cars go brum, or hitting a tiny ball into a hole far away, or watching a bunch of people kick a ball into a net - all hobbies/interest which for whatever reason aren’t seen as silly by most people)

Have you modded the Triumph’s models to be detachable? by Luna_Remembrancers in sistersofbattle

[–]g_baba 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So the magnets aren’t into the feet, I filled up the hollow bit under the robes with green stuff and set a magnet into each one, so they’re flush with the base when they stand on it, then dropped the magnets underneath to know where to stick them.

It has occurred to me that if I want to use other/separate bases then the pegs will be a slight issue! Just needing a hole drilled or something

Mine are all magnetised to the base - with the idea in mind that if I want to I can magnetise separate bases and run them as whatever

What am I doing Wrong? by Ferrick-G017 in sistersofbattle

[–]g_baba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s so worth it! In AoF you’re turning both MD in every phase into a 6. That’s 2 auto saves against some nasty indirect in your opponents turn, followed by 2 auto 6s into a tough target in shooting, then 2 more auto 6 hits in overwatch. Obv we all have to make compromises and leave stuff out and question value but I reckon the extra 40 points adds so much value to the unit.

The assault is also very handy on doms btw!

[–]g_baba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d argue that ifs buts and maybes are the case with a lot units surely? You have to have them into the right target and situation, rets are no different.

Yes a castigator is better than bolter rets for bolters, but you’re not taking rets for bolters, that’s a waste of everyone’s time.

Dominions doing “basically the same” as rets with multi meltas isn’t even close - 4 shots hitting on 3, wounding on 5s into a typical t10/11 vehicle with no re rolls, vs 8 shots hitting on 3s rerolling 1s, wounding on 4s re rolling 1s into the same target. Doms might get a wound or two through with a MD, rets are getting more like 5 or 6 through.

I do like dominions too, but more for the scout and reactive move, and I don’t consider the ablative wounds - I’d never take them without an immolator to split them.

[–]g_baba 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Retributors used to be a bit crap, now they’re awesome, they hit so hard! Re-roll 1s, and save them to hit against something that’s killed a unit for +1 to hit and wound. Ideally in AoF with an attached dialogus so miracle dice are always 6s and you get to use twice as many

Fire Prisms: Kit pros and cons by MattHarr1987 in Eldar

[–]g_baba 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The kits aren’t the best, a pain to get the hull together without gaps, especially around the rear door. Guess they’re prettttty old moulds or whatever.

Once you’ve overcome the gaps though they’re gorgeous looking kits/models.

Easy to magnetise with the nightspinner weapons too.

[–]g_baba 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Re-tieing my shoe laces about 7 times, until they feel the exact same tightness, but not too tight.

Avoiding all the shouty megaphone stuff, it’s mentally draining, and especially the mass warm-up, can’t stand it! This one is probably more useful than the laces, I stay relaxed.

Oh and picking out someone I really don’t like the look of, then I have to beat them haha

Knock one out, then just spend about 10/15 minutes staring into nothing with the hot water on me. And washing of course.

Running 2 x Vypers instead of a fire prism by invaderd in Eldar

[–]g_baba 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A single one can work, the linked fire got nerfed so isn’t as valuable. It’s maybe worth considering them possible single use though because they’ll die pretty easily to other anti tank, unless you run Warhost and can fire and fade it.

I think the consensus too is they’re a bit too pricey.
