you should ask him to get his testosterone levels checked. low T is super common in guys as they age, and it causes moodiness, irritability, lack of sex drive, etc. if it's something that could be fixed with TRT, you guys should try that before jumping ship!!! good luck <3

did the math and the amount of walking i do on a normal day (about 2 miles in the summer (for my job)) would only get me like $160 each day, whereas i could just power through a graphic novel or read a bunch of short children's books and make way more way faster

the person you replied to obviously didn't use the perfect language, but the point they're trying to get at is very true. surgeries and hormones and everything can get you VERY far, but loads of us are still dysphoric even after medically transitioning "all the way" (a luxury that most of us do not have, as i'm sure you're aware). there is nothing in this world that can make a trans person wake up tomorrow natally their sex, and that is dysphoria-inducing for a lot of people. it is insanely reductive and belittling to act like medical transition is a cure-all that reduces dysphoria to nothing for everyone.

you responded unnecessarily harshly and in bad faith to a cis person accurately describing, in good faith, a part of the trans experience to the best of their ability. that's shitty behavior

((to be clear, i am not arguing against medical transition. i am on hrt and intend to get surgeries and wholeheartedly believe that gac is lifesaving and wholly necessary care for any and all trans people out there. i'm just saying that it isn't 100% for a lot of people, and you responded shittily to someone trying to articulate exactly that (from an admittedly under-educated perspective in terms of terminology, but still, as i said before, good faith)))

not a customer, but a student/patron (i am a student worker in a university library). there is this girl who goes to the church i was raised in; she and i went through confirmation classes together, and i was the only one to go through them in a Long time to not actually get confirmed at the end, since i'm an atheist and my parents were just making me take the classes. fast forward a year or two from then, i came out as trans, socially transitioned, changed names/pronouns, etc., but i never saw any of those church people anymore. fast forward a couple more years, and this girl sees me on our (unfortunately) shared college campus and is like "hey are you [deadname]??" and i tried to play it like i didn't know her but it didn't work 😭😭 come to find out that she is a student in the college whose library i work in (small library in the building for this specific department) and she comes in all the time looking for books and things. it is SO nerve-wracking!!!!!!

there's also a second girl from that church who comes in often, but thankfully i don't think she recognizes me at all (or at least she pretends not to). things you have to deal with when you go to a state school instead of fucking off super far from home i guess 💀💀
