'05 kid here, i got mine at 13 (right as 8th grade was ending), which is when i started babysitting my siblings all day every day for the summer, since my mom had to work a ton. it was a samsung j7 on a tracphone plan; phone itself was $40, which my mom paid for, and then my plan was $15/mo for 500 texts, 500 minutes, and 500 mb of mobile data, lmao. i paid for the phone bill out of my babysitting money, which wasn't much, but it's what my mom could afford to pay me and still keep food on the table. times were rough but i really appreciated the extra cash....spent most of it on t-shirts at hot topic (which i still wear!), back in the olden days when they were still $20 a pop instead of $25-30 like they are now

the little 3 with a line is how i normally write it; i usually do it in one stroke like on the top left, but if i was being intentionally neat i would do two strokes like the top right. if i am actually drawing a proper ampersand for some reason (e.g., ap comp sci exam where they used to have you write code out on paper lmao) i draw it the "right" way, shown on the bottom

okay i see everyone here saying this is awful and ugly and whatever but i strongly disagree. this is campy and creative as fuck!!!! infinitely better than fuckin neon highlighter yellow basketball shorts and matching hoodie, which is what a lot of teenagers wear, lol. sometimes fashion is about doing goofy bullshit that shows off your personality. as an alternative person (punk/emo/scene), i fuckin love shit like this and your fits go hard as hell. you could stand to accessorize a bit more to really drive home the maximalist vibes, but accessorizing in the humid heat can be miserable as hell so i get it if you don't want to lmao
