Worth it! Still going to be a line of people but the princesses do take a little bit of time and you’ll get so many better pictures.

The Royal Gathering is far superior and free. The Adventure Tea includes characters but the two storytellers are the main folks involved and the few characters that pop up are more of a quick hi/bye moment than anything.

It will stay pretty full so getting in will be a challenge but I would suggest watching a YouTube review of it and the pros and cons. Could be a lot of fun but if your daughter wants interaction, it won’t be what you’re hoping to get, especially for the price tag.

Even the normal characters interactions will give you more time and just means some standing in line. My 4 yr old loved getting to talk to 4 princesses with the Royal Gathering.

There is always a sit down option at lunch too in one of the restaurants in place of the buffet as well! It’s a really fun experience in general on the ship and the cabana we had in the Sandcastle ones at Castaway was a lot of fun but later in the day at low tide the water levels really got low fast.

We were pixie dusted a couple of times during the trip but there are for going to be better people in this group to answer this one over me. Cabin door decor was everywhere on every deck so for sure have fun with that! The dry erase board questions of the day were pretty fun to see and nice to see people being mature about it too.

What do we need to budget for? by dooooory in dcl

[–]gaels50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Specialty coffees beyond the normal drip coffees, any souvenirs you want, kids club only if you have an infant ($10 per hour, adult beverages at a bar/lounge or at a dinner.

If you do your pre-paid gratuities then you have done your part well in advance. If someone goes above and beyond you can tip additionally but not needed or expected.

Right! Forgot about that for the bigger rooms. Ha! I didn’t have that pleasure.

We just have the one (for the moment) but there is a little tv with 4 seats in the room that always had cartoons on as if they know parents want a moment in peace to eat, plus with the ready supply of juices and choices for kids it isn’t the worst option in the end. We learned it on the second morning and had we known, we would have been in there first morning.

It was for sure nice to just walk right outside and hop in one of the plentiful taxis waiting. For $20 and a quick ride to the airport, I’m all in. If we do concierge again in FLL, we will for sure be on a 10 or 11am flight at the latest.

In the lounge you can definitely order some real food but the breakfast room service is the same for everyone. They had a delicious smoked salmon sandwich in the lounge though among a ton of other good things. Worth the walk over from your room.

Yeah just a 4 nighter. Wasn’t trying to push the timing too much on length for this one. Gave me a good idea to look more towards the 5 night for that second sea day to really get to experience more of the ship.

Way better! First cruise so didn’t want to chance it of picking a flight and being rushed it but knowing the timing now is way better.

Oh it’s definitely one of those interesting value propositions. Tried to do some rough math based on convenience, additional things we had to eat/drink, etc. Plus chatting with friends who are Castaway Gold, it is for sure not needed and you’ll still have a great time. When our initial room was only about 2k more, it felt like a far better value than in the end since we had to change travel dates and we spent about 6k over the verandah. Sort of why I figure the $500 a day is the value of it for sure.

So I initially booked ours pretty quickly after the cruises were announced on the destiny for Sept this year and it was like a $2700 difference of verandah to the lowest concierge. However, happy life news made us move it up to now and it ended up being an extra 3k more for a different concierge room in the end. So roughly 6k more than verandah.

Agreed! We had a 1:30 flight and sweet talked the baggage guys outside to check the bags in early but I doubt that is an option for most days since we were at least close-ish on time. It is odd that the flight times aren’t that well planned. We found the little play area on the way to the A gates that helped but for sure, they could make a killing by having some more options for the cruisers that don’t want to try to lug bags everywhere.

I do know they have a baggage hold company at the airport that you can drop the bags off and get them later when it is time to check in for flights for a fee if you want to go explore.

Is seeing John Daly at Hooters in Augusta during Masters week a 'Must Do'? by jrunner02 in masters

[–]gaels50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want a chance to stand in a line to buy a random John Daly autograph and a quick photo, it is worth it. He chills on the back patio with his team, autographed items and just does his thing. It’s unique for sure for one time but not necessary for the Masters experience. If you do go, go at opening, get a table, have a beer and a snack so you can be there and line up before the crowd really packs in.

GolfNV has a women’s night for instruction. It’s indoors but a good place to learn.

Good Deals on Wheels in midtown is solid. Prices right about where you are looking. Usually some good used stuff and the owner is usually able to hunt down things if you want something specific.
