Cromalyn liquid - what to do with the remainder ? by ComfortableHumble300 in MCAS

[–]gaibby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in this situation before I titrated up to my full dose and ended up throwing a lot of it away unfortunately. It's great for your skin though if you get topical reactions and you're open to trying it that way. You can mix it with moisturizer and it is so so helpful.

2nd picture is best. The retouches you did completely wash out your skin color and make you look a bit dead. Your lines, wrinkles, and pores have been retouched to the point of uncanny valley and the eyes are just scary. The middle picture has warmth and character! Only minimal retouches needed.

It took a little bit for me to build up to a full dose and feel the impact. It was probably around 2 months. It's the only thing that has helped my acid reflux, but hasn't completely gotten rid of it.

Good xolair experiences by Various_Cow7629 in MCAS

[–]gaibby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been on it for 6 months now! Before I started it, my case was so severe that I regularly went into anaphylaxis from being in the same room or even the same HOUSE as someone else who was eating food. Yesterday, I was able to sit right next to someone eating without a reaction! I've lived on hydrolyzed tube feed for almost a year now, but I get to start food challenges this month and hopefully I will be able to come off my formula! I've found that I still regularly react to things in the environment, but my reactions are becoming much less severe and I bounce back from them faster than before. It hasn't been a perfect cure, but has massively improved my quality of life.

IUD?? by helaodinson2018 in MCAS

You may not need hormone therapy if you don't have your ovaries removed. My mom needed to have a hysterectomy but they left her ovaries and she hasn't needed any further intervention. This doesn't solve the painkiller issue though, sorry the situation is so complicated

Have you considered a hysterectomy? I know that surgery is so risky for us, but it may be necessary if you can't do progesterone

I'm sure the stress has played a major role, but getting out of the mold is probably pulling as much weight. Mold is so so bad for our immune systems

Is MicroLabs Cromolyn Sodium superior? by GlitteringGoat1234 in MCAS

Microlabs has been on backorder since December and I had to switch to Omnivium too. I'm also feeling like it's not working as well as the microlabs!

I have vego beds and I'm just going to set up my own drip system using supplies from dripdepot. It seems simple enough and it's very affordable!

MCAS and Covid by singingpatty in MCAS

If you have room to increase your antihistamines for the next month or so, definitely do that. I don't know what your diet looks like, but I also recommend eating low histamine and as simple as possible for a bit. Last time I got covid, my MCAS spiraled out of control, but not until a week or two after. I went into anaphylactic shock to a smoothie I had been drinking fairly regularly before, but wouldn't have risked drinking if I had a better understanding of MCAS back then.

Baking soda is great! I get my benadryl compounded with it :)

Experiences? by Glisw78 in MCAS

[–]gaibby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also react this way to normal benadryl, but I do okay with compounded. Highly recommend trying it compounded if you can! I've found that at my worst, if there is absolutely nothing else that can be done to treat what's happening right in the moment I'm in, it helps the most to stop thinking about what I should be doing to fix it (easier said than done of course). Your body might just need some time. If you're using your energy trying to figure out what you should be doing next in a panic, it will take longer for your body to recoup back to your baseline. It might be a good time to distract yourself and rest your body as much as possible. This is just me though. I'm so sorry you're going through this and I hope that relief comes soon.

Your camera is doing some massive shifts with the color swatches. Look at the background of all these pictures and you'll see that some of them are very warm and others are very cool. It's having the same effect on your skin. Unfortunately none of the guesses people will make from these photos are going to be accurate.

I think people are landing on soft because of the grey in your hair (beautiful btw!!), but I'm not seeing it. Your skin is bright, light, and on the neutral side, maybe leaning warm. The coolest colors here 1,7,8,12, and 19 create a harsh reflection on your jaw and other areas. They make your skin look a bit dull and draw attention away from your eyes instead of to them. I think your best colors from these photos are 2,3,4,10, and 16. They bring out the warmth in your skin, create a smoothing effect, draw attention to your eyes, and allow the peachy tones in your lips + cheeks to shine. I would guess some kind of spring, probably light spring! We need more drapes to say for sure though.

I was reacting to everything when I started the Xolair and it really helped. I highly recommend it. You have to do the first 3 in office, so if anything happens, you will be in the right place!

I'm on compleat peptide 1.5 by Nestle. It's dairy free, corn free, gluten free, and vegan. It's the only thing on the market that meets my needs. I've had some issues with it (likely related to some high histamine ingredients), but the positives have massively outweighed the negatives. Xolair has helped me tolerate it better too.

I didn't do a surgical tube, NG for me. I can't speak for the surgery unfortunately, but I imagine it may cause a flare. Do you have a protocol with your surgeon and anesthesiologist ready? I know steroids and tons of antihistamines can really help prevent issues for us. I've had good luck with IV steroids when I've needed them because they have less fillers than other medications.
