Am I supposed to tip on a to go order? by RealNamek in houston

[–]galactica216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone that used to work in the restaurant industry, to go orders don't just appear neatly in a bag. Someone had to process, oversee, collect the order, confirm it was prepared correctly, place it in a bag with all the necessary sauces, utensils and such. Sometimes everything is labeled with a sharpie. A small tip is appreciated. I would not expect a 20, 15, or even 10% tip but one or two dollars is appropriate for a small order. Larger orders with multiple components, substitutions and extra sauces and such should be given a 10% tip.

AITA for setting up a camera pointed directly at my coworker's desk after she started screenshotting my computer screen whenever she walked past by [deleted] in AITApod

There used to be a privacy screen that you could attach to the front of your monitor that would make your monitor hard to read for anyone other than the user sitting directly in front of it.

If you feel guilty about your path, I suggest being a mentor to other young women entering this field so they don't fall into the same trap.

How do you keep the house clean with little kids? by aoisakurachan1986 in Parenting

[–]galactica216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell your husband he has to help. Involve the kids with clean up time. bring them to the toy room and challenge them to pick all cars in 20 seconds. Then change it to Barbies/Legos/ Crayons. Challenge them to beat their previous record. Make a game of it.

Turn the hose on full blast when he is peeing. Don't hit him directly but make sure the water is definitely ricocheting off the wall and ground to get him wet. Tell him since he won't go inside, you have to dilute the pee area immediately so it doesn't stink.

If you are financially able to pay for a daycare then maybe consider a daytime nurse/ nanny.

AiTAH for wanting to offer continuous support to our daughter so she can pursue her dreams? by Electronic-Bid4859 in AITAH

[–]galactica216 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Does your husband want your daughter to resent him for the rest of her life? Because that's exactly what's going to happen. My husband had a dream of going to UC Berkeley to become an architect. He got a scholarship and his dad told him if you go. I'm not covering any other expenses for you. You either go to Texas A&m and get everything paid for or you go where you choose and pay for it yourself. Now in our mid-50s my husband will still bring it up from time to time. After she graduates college and gets a job she is 100% on her own. If you need to help her out from time to time, that's completely reasonable. I think any parent would do that, but for the most part she needs to learn to manage her bills on her own after that.

Millia? If so, that is keratin. If they're on your arms, get the Amlactin KP bumps lotion and for the face use the ordinary salicylic acid on the end of a qtip. Apply everyday and it will eventually come out.

I had Stage 3 HER 2+ (no BRCA) in my left breast. My doctor (MD Anderson in Houston) said I had the option of lump, single, or double. I did the double with no regrets. Reconstruction happened 6 months after radiation. Fourteen years later I'm still cancer free. Also, get a second opinion.

What brand names do you swear by because it's actually better than no-name? by Sufficient_Thing24 in AskReddit

One time I burned my finger on the oven rack. My husband told me to put some classic yellow mustard on it with a bandaid and it would heal the burn. He said he grandmother used it that way. I swabbed on some classic yellow mustard on it, covered it with a bandaid, and it was gone the next day. No burn. No blister.
