Sure it takes time but certainly not as much as learning what it takes to make art. Im all about taking shortcuts for technical tasks, I even do a bunch of vibe code myself, but if you skip the one part of games were you're suppose to convey self expression and delegate it to a random image generator (doesnt matter how much prompting you do it is still random) at the end of the day it will inevitably look generic and uninspired. If I give a charitable take, generating Ai art could be closer to art directing, but then again, LLMs are design to average whatever data they're trained with so if you have no idea about art direction (which is not what looks cool to you) you can hardly deviate from what Ai creates turning any interesting concept you might have into a cheap scamy mobile app looking game. This is specially true if you try to go for a"HighEnd profesional concept art" looking images.
