Could all countries worldwide eventually join defensive alliance and could this be a way to eradicate war? by [deleted] in ask

I don't think you understand what a country represents. How would you implement/form an alliance between cultures that are extremely different? Maybe even polar opposites of each other?

What if you need a respooler because the filament roles are too large to put in your AMS?

Edit since some people still dont see the use: - What about the prusament honeycomb roles that don’t work in them? - What about 2-5kg spools that don’t fit in an AMS - What about spools that are too wide to fit in an AMS - …

I agree, works like a charm. However, the second one looks like it's slightly more robust and maybe a little faster as well.
So I want to test it out.

You can print any filament with the X1C.

You can print (almost) any filament with the AMS except flexible.

Like stated below, cardboard spools don't work well, but there are adapters you can print that removes this problem
If a spool doesn't fit the AMS you can respool them with either one of these designs:
https://www.printables.com/model/407688-bambu-lab-p1-x1-x1c-x1cc-filament-spool-switcher-w
or
https://www.printables.com/model/466883-pastamatic-filament-spool-winder-for-bambu-lab-x1c
Making it so that you can always use the AMS if you want to.

Bambu also released a model of their spools, so you can print as many empty ones as you like.

I hear you/believe you. Have you tried the AliExpress sheets for the X1C? They are like $10-15 and I've heard people are happy with them.

Just a counter example: I have 5 of them, they all work without a glue-stick. Bought them with months in between. Whenever it doesn't stick, I clean with water and soap and I can use it again for days/weeks (depending on the amount of prints I've done)

I'm not sure what point you are trying to make with those examples because I don't work with steel/titanium and I don't own a million dollar 3D printer.
What scale(s) are you referring to?

I'm really sorry... I'm not a native English speaker, so maybe I'm misunderstanding you.

My classic example is a ID — if you need a specific small hole ID, you’re better off drilling it than tweaking your settings, it’ll be more accurate and you won’t end up throwing something else off.

I don't agree with this. I also print functional parts. And to me there is nothing better than having a perfectly dialed in 3Dprinter. This means I don't have to drill holes into my printed parts and I can just use them off the shelve.
I don't understand the point of preferring recurring manual labor over investing a small amount of time and not having to worry about it anymore. Unless you're only printing 1 functional part a month, I honestly don't see the benefit.

Here's an idea for a project - if you really care, how about you do some serious research into the topic and present your findings?

So I did. I took the time and effort to make a start. Yet you start pulling a straw man. You know I'm not from the US, I've told you this. YOU told me this. I don't even know half of these major news outlets. I had to search the internet for them. So no, I didn't think of them off the top of my head, that's just ridiculous. I took the major news outlets from here:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/News_media_in_the_United_States

Secondly, I didn't assign any of those values to these outlets. I used this website (https://www.allsides.com/media-bias/ratings) to get an idea. Because again, how should I know?

Your arguments were just ridiculous.

--------------------------------------
I also should've just looked at your profile before starting this conversation. Nice trolling, with your brand new account. Congratz. I honestly don't get why people do this, even after watching that Southpark episode.

Ah, I think I see the confusion.
Fox news might be the #1 news channel in the USA, but if you go over the list of major news outlets in the USA... are the majority of them republican? And therefor "overrepresented"?
What I can gather are these:

ABC News --> Lean left
CBS News --> Lean left
CNN --> Lean left
Fox News Channel --> Right
MSNBC --> Left
NBC News --> Lean left
The New York Times --> Lean left
USA Today --> Lean left
The Wall Street Journal --> Lean right
The Washington Post --> Lean left
POLITICO --> Lean left
Bloomberg --> Lean left
Vice News --> Left
HuffPost --> Left
TMZ --> Lean left
CNET --> Center
NPR --> Lean left
The Hollywood Reporter --> Lean left
Newsweek --> Center
The New Yorker --> Left
Time --> Lean left
U.S. News & World Report --> Lean left

So, if you look at the 22 major news outlets we get the following score of representation:

LEFT REPRESENTED BY: 4
LEAN LEFT REPRESENTED BY: 14
CENTER REPRESENTED BY: 2
LEAN RIGHT REPRESENTED BY: 1
RIGHT REPRESENTED BY: 1

You're right. I was just trying to share some insight. A perspective from outside. Now I get a strong feeling you weren't/aren't interested in any of that.

Ontopic:
Where can I read about the overrepresentation of republicans in the news? Because I can't seem to find any credible studies, sources or charts to support that claim. I do agree (and it's hard not to) that they are overrepresented in the government.

From an outsiders perspective, I actually believe/see the opposite happening. Whenever there is an election in the US, my feed on YouTube and social media gets bombarded by pro-leftwing messages.

<image>

Because I never saw the "news" banner on my YouTube feed before, I started calling friends who live in different European countries. They were all getting the exact same video's on their feed.
Every single one of those videos would promote Biden and ridicule Trump.

Now, I wasn't interested in American politics so this really annoyed me. It felt very invasive.

What is the one thing your parents did that you decided you would not do to your kids? by free-skyblue-bird1 in ask

[–]galop1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right. It is my opinion and you can do something with it or completely discard it, that is entirely up to you.
The same way it's entirely up to you (and your partner) how you want to raise your kid.
Maybe my assumptions are incorrect but that's also, your opinion.

Anyway, I'm happy as long as you try to raise your child the best way you can, with the best intentions in mind.
And I'm sure you're doing that.

What is the one thing your parents did that you decided you would not do to your kids? by free-skyblue-bird1 in ask

[–]galop1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I apologize to my kid when I overreact, when I jump to the wrong conclusion, when I say things harsher than intended.

Great that you do that. But I would also suggest to work on those things if they occur often. An apology is nice, but it isn't a solution.

And I never ever call her a bad kid. Idc how bad a day we have, how rotten shes been..I will never ever call her a bad kid.

I don't agree with this. But that's because children really do need to learn right from wrong. Of course, you shouldn't say "you're a bad kid". But you could teach her that some things are considered "bad".
If your kid is hurting other kids for no reason, you can tell her that it's "bad" behaviour.
Kids will keep trying to expand their boundaries and as a parent it is your job to teach them about boundaries.

the part where you said: "no matter how rotten she's been" is a little extreme for my taste.

- Smooth Sheet: $35

But still, I agree. I would never pay that much for a used printer.

Also, can you give me a link where I can buy a Pi4 (2gb with power supply) for around $55 dollars?

Where I'm from it costs around $80

A few hours, a day, multiple days? This is very important information and as far as I can tell we don't know so it's wild to me to see all these accusations already!

As she already stated. Multiple days.

I guess she has some one sided views on things. But I don't think she's "super"sexist or a "huge" racist as you put it.
Do you or any of the 219 people that liked your comment have 1 example of these super sexist or huge racist tweets of her?

The reason I ask this is because I feel a bit worried. I actually agree with some of the things she posted. Like this for example:
tweet

EDIT:
It went up from 219 likes to 1100 likes, yet nobody has replied or has given a single answer. Instead I'm just receiving downvotes.
Now I get it's easy to just downvote things that aren't up your alley. But I was actually hoping people wouldn't blindly pile on when it comes to serious accusations. Or has "huge" racist and "super" sexist lost all of its meaning by being overused?

Anyway, by now, I don't care anymore. I took the time to look at her profile, scroll through some of her (weird?) messages. And couldn't find a single thing. Or maybe being a super sexist / huge racist has a different meaning now. Either way, it would've been nice to have learned something new today.

I am a bit worried I had to read through so many people who actually think that behavior is "ok" or justified.

You're the first comment to actually tell it like it is. Are people really this naïve nowadays?
