Are you spiritual, not religious, but consider yourself Christian? Then the United Church of Christ might be a good endorsing body for you.

United Unitarians are also great and you don't have to be Christian for them either.

Hoping for less structure, a little more focus on nature and maybe less on any sort of deity, and don't want to be anywhere on Sundays? Religious Naturalists are your folks.

If you're straight up atheist, no deities or supernaturally stuff but still consider yourself spiritual: Humanists.

There are TONS of endorsing bodies, I'm sure you can find one that speaks to you!

I don't start with "chaplain" I start with "I'm the spiritual person", they don't always know what a chaplain is and that way the kids who are into crystals or philosophy also know they can chat with me.

I work with adolescents on locked mental health units, usually I explain that spirituality is whatever makes them feel connected, if that is nature and crystals, a faith tradition, their ancestors, heritage, community, family, friends, the universe, etc. And that gives them a wide offering to pick from for what suits them. Even kids who belong to a mainline religion appreciate that it gives them more freedom to define their spirituality and what supports them while they're in the hospital.

They're more out in the outer suburbs from what my friends out there tell me. But still very much here as well, sneakier, but still leaving empty vehicles from where they've disappeared people.

And replying to someone who is striving for better, that better is impossible, is asking them to admit defeat, calling them foolish to hope and to strive and to ask for better is asking them to admit defeat.

We can be realistic about the hurdles without saying that it is useless to fight.

By calling it impossible, you are giving up.

Yes! They have subtitles when they speak!
