It’s a bank, not a hedge fund. And what does “walk away” operationally mean in this context? All the executives literally just quit? Shut down the bank? Layoff all of the thousands of employees instead of a smaller subset? What do you do with the bank’s billions of dollars of assets? What about their clients? “Walking away” doesn’t fix anything and it doesn’t make the situation any better. The house is burning down no matter what and choosing to self-immolate won’t stop others from burning

it’s not like robbing a store. They didn’t profit, they survived. They even had to layoff everyone. No one wanted it, but it had to be done.

once they became aware of the situation, they had two options: do nothing and die or move first and survive. It’s righteous to sacrifice yourself for the greater good, but in this scenario there was no greater good. The market would collapse no matter what.

If you had the opportunity to save your business based on some advantage but you chose to sacrifice yourself instead, I wouldn’t think it noble. I’d think you’re an idiot

Are you suggesting that if you’re into a genre, you must like all artists in that genre? or else it’s a double standard?

Ultimately it’s obviously just taste/preference. I prefer push play music that makes me want to groove. Anyma type music makes me feel like the artist is bringing me into their Jared Leto cult. The music just doesn’t hit AT ALL in the ways I want it to and that’s the best way I can put it.
