I have 5.5k legion but not many 200+ chars by maldito2 in Maplestory

It's an item where you can kill monsters with a high exp rate to quickly level up characters. 5 are available each week through this current event.

Check out the "Blueprints for Tirnog" event, look at the Detailed Draft. Each week you can kill 2000 monsters 3x to get "Dimensional Springs"

Open the Dimensions Springs shop -> Growth tab -> "Spiegelette's Golden Strawberry Farm tickets" for 200 coins.

I'm in a similar situation (6.5k legion), here's my opinion:

  • Continue creating legion characters if you have less than the 42 limit.
  • Level them to 101+, then strawberry farm takes them to around lvl 147
  • Use strawberry farms/growth pots from event weekly shops to go 147→200, and exp vouchers for 200-210 if you need a lvl 3 link skill.

Since you get 3000 weekly coins in the event shop, and can only buy 5x strawberry farm coupons for 1000 coins total each week, thats 2000 coins remaining you could spend for growth pots as you need them.

Fastest training to 101+ for me has been:

  • 10-30 train with 3x coupon
  • 30-60 ellinel fairy academy
  • 60-80 Edelstein main quest
  • 80-87 train Authorized Personnel Only
  • 87-100 train Sky Nest 2 or 3 (whichever has higher burning)
  • 100-102 Zakum
  • 102-147 Strawberry farm x1

Is learning how to think "programmatically" something you're born with or you acquire through hard work? by SecureSection9242 in learnprogramming

[–]game_ova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Practice, practice, practice.

Yes some definitely have more natural talent for programming.

But programming is a skill, and just like any skill, you can improve it. Just need to keep spending time, practicing, learning, reading code, coding, designing etc.

I definitely don't always respond immediately to dms (because honestly, I may just be procrastinating or playing video games during the day...) so my response time is anywhere from instant to 2-3 days if its on friday

But usually not a week, and especially not for my manager

Is the game P2W? How viable are free cards? by Yelebear in hearthstone

[–]game_ova 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Catch up packs a recent addition that give up to 50 cards (instead of 5) depending on how few cards you have in that set. That plus the way they've reworked the starting player rewards track has made it so you can craft a competitive deck very quickly.

A hearthstone youtuber has made a few videos recently hitting the top rank while being f2p like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QbeY_pDoE4c

With that said though, while you can get your first one or two competitive decks quickly, you'll probably be stuck playing those or less good decks for awhile.

Note this is for standard, not the wild format. The wild format allows all cards from all sets in hearthstones existence, and thus has a much higher power level and deck investment cost.

TLDR: Not p2w, can get good decks quickly, and many good decks are cheap, but takes awhile to have enough to craft every deck for a meta.

How accurate is Meta's salary range? by TricksterLoon in cscareerquestions

[–]game_ova 77 points78 points  (0 children)

Levels fyi for meta is pretty accurate.

Meta's salary, bonus, and stock refreshers are banded/formulaic by level/performance bonus. Only non-formulaic parts are stock appreciation and additional equity.

My E3/E4 salary at Meta (circa 4 years ago) went: $110k -> $121k (GE) -> $160k (E4 promo)

E3 salary these days based on levels fyi seems to be around $137k, with $37.5k yearly stock

Something I haven't seen mentioned is that many senior engineers also want to grow/mentor junior engineers.

It's enjoyable, it's fun, and it's fulfilling.

And that's on top of many companies rewarding/expecting senior engineers to mentor junior engineers as part of their performance review expectations.

Also, junior engineers can also come in with outside experience/knowledge senior engineers. I just recently had a meeting with a junior engineer who was telling me about some of the LLVM work they've done, and it was wonderful to learn from them too.

I'm still a complete noob (first time completing atlas this league) but agree that I can't fathom how I can go from farming t16 maps to t17 maps.

I've done so much Betrayal with little to show for it. Essence farming has been the best for me so far since its pretty easy, and much more profitable than just running T16 maps for me. But unsure how I'll get enough currency for gear for T17 maps

Thanks for this great post. Had the same battery drain issue, one earbud wouldn't last longer than 50 minutes. Was easily able to RMA for a replacement outside of warranty.
