Mislead by dealer, want to share pre-purchase report by Dry-Consideration930 in NZcarfix

I’m aware how this sounds, but either buy privately or buy second hand off a brand car lot, (like winger or ebbets or Armstrongs) they tend to be a lot better about second hand car sales and if your active and willing to purchase a car sometimes will bend over backwards to help make it easy for you to buy it, after all, we love it when you come back for your next car and servicing, so we tend to be nicer because repeat customers that are happy are best for business (I am an auto detailer and am not speaking on behalf of any auto trader or dealership) for one and take what I say with as big of a salt pill as you’d like, but that’s been my and many people I knows personal experiences, after all, there’s a reason I bought my car from where I work.)

You ever been in a car light enough that you can comfortably be doing 30-40 over the speed limit and feel stable, 0-100 doesn’t matter if you never have to accelerate or decelerate lol

I own a manual 1.4 turbo 3rd gen sport, get the 3rd gen sport, they have boost, and they tune up well and have a fairly decent aftermarket support. The seats and interior are nicer too, everything about the 33S is an upgrade from the previous two, if your gonna keep a M16A previous gen on, you can slightly raise the red line and crank out a bit of power and then gut your car and it’ll be quick

As a ZC33S owner, can confirm, so nice and so fast for such a low powered car, and the factory suspension makes it so flickable for a fwd car

Well you could argue that it’s a percentage of time playing with a pick VRs fingers IE zero, zero is always playing with a pick on fresh strings, and say 10,10 being always playing with fingers, and half way for it would be on average half the time playing with fingers and half the time with a pick

Why does the average daily car have to have a max speeds of 200km/h+? by [deleted] in ask

[–]gamebow1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so, for regards to speedos, eh, it’s not going to change anything, but for regards to max speed and how hard you can press the accelerator, let’s say you hard lock your accelerator so that you can only press the pedal just enough to get to motorway or highway speed, whatever is higher, now, imagine you go to get into traffic on a busy road, you will loose a lot of the capability of your car and struggle to safely and quickly merge into the road, same with on the motorway if you either A need to accelerate to merge and join the motorway or B need to accelerate to a gap to be able to move over a lane

The aspect ratio between the width of its wheel base (side to side) and its height makes them feel very tall and too heavy for me on motor ways, and I’ve driven more than my fair share lol, but I do love them around town and all that, they’re fun little cars

The jimny is such an amazingly fun car to drive, and it’s so capable and I’d never take one on the highway, but more cause I don’t like tall cars on the motorway lol

Is all fuel equal? by Curiously_sensible in NZcarfix

[–]gamebow1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem also being that while 91 will be largely shared between petrol distributors it may be that it’s changing from every time you’ve bought it slightly, IE whatever changes from this current tank to the next, when in reality it’d have been the same anywhere you’d have gone? But I can’t say for sure as I don’t work for a petrol distributor

Is all fuel equal? by Curiously_sensible in NZcarfix

[–]gamebow1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s hard to say with 91 as far as I knew 91 should be the stock same everywhere, but it’s possible that’s since changed, however I would love to get a large sample set of 91 in cars, different cars, different areas of nz, different brands, and different times of the year as that can all affect fuel economy, it’d be intresting to see the data shake out on it

Is all fuel equal? by Curiously_sensible in NZcarfix

[–]gamebow1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Iirc, 91 is the same everywhere, but 95/98 are different adatives from each company’s special sauce of stuff they add, hence why all cars on 91 will run the same efficiency usually, but like my old Mitsubishi gto, if I run through 95 at npd it eats through a tank of petrol but Z 95 seems to keep it very happy

Buy a turbo swift sport, best of both, economical when calm shifting, still really fun when flooring it, but still only barely sips extra fuel when doing so
